That's what I thought. I hate when this guy does the commentary.

That INT almost looked like pass interference too, he bumped AJ out of the way. And wasn't looking at the ball.

Typical knee jerk fan reaction...this team has gotten better under Kubiak's watch..maybe they haven't progressed as fast as us impatient fans would like, but they are improving. Then consider that the team has been beset by key injuries all year. Great teams can still find ways to win regardless, but this team is not a great team, and that shouldn't be surprising.

They beat Carolina this year when they were at full strength, came close to beating Indy with a depleted team. So they are good enough to compete with any team in the league but not good enough to beat the contenders, not yeat. They played Cleveland fairly well in the first half, but the Browns took it to another level in the second half and the Texans didn't respond to the challenge.

The playoffs were a long shot this year anyways...if they manage to churn out an 8-8 season I'd be happy.

--need to note that I do not think they can compete with NE...no team can right now.

Valuable lesson learned: Never get my hopes up for an important Texans game.

Hopefully now all you riding that bandwagon will forget about the Texans making the playoffs this year. :D

Nah...that was just a horrible throw by Schaub. Not sure if AJ's knee was acting up on him but he didn't seem himself today. He rarely made a play on the ball. Credit the Browns secondary though, they stepped up big today.

The running game was there as Ron Dayne had a very effective game.

it was the freakin' turnovers. the first INT should have been a pass interference but Owen Daniels needs to quit coughing up the ball.

oh yea, change the defensive play call every once in awhile, jesus!

Look I wasn't expecting the Texans to win the division or make the playoffs this year but how much more can you wait and how many more draft picks before the teams is any good?

A lot of talent has gone through this team whether by means of draft picks or else. Yet we don't have a winning season to show for it. It is about accountability and no one on this team or organization seems to take it seriously. This is the modern day NFL and if your expectation is that an expansion team has 10 years to build a decent squad then I feel sorry for you . A 2-3 year window to build upon is enough but when you end spending half a decade with real no progress then you left with no but mediocrity.

The Texans best season was in 2004 when they went 7-9 (0.437).
At 5-6 (0.454) we are on pace to have a similar season.
So tell me where is the progress?

Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them. - Joseph Heller

Is 78 yards and no rushing TD very effective? I don't think the Browns feared our running game at all. They focused on our passing game.

You didn't see a different team the first few games of the season before all of the injuries? Did we have a meaningful game like this one this late into the season last year? Would you rather have Carr rather than Schaub out there? There is plenty of progress.

How about neither? Schaub is looking like a mediocre NFL QB.

the total yardage isn't much, but Dayne averaged almost 5 yards a rush. that's pretty effective. it's not his fault the offense kept giving the ball away.

Why bother getting a great QB, until we fix the OL?

Yeah, there has been progress, but I don't think it's too much to expect the home team to go out there and play a complete game. We all know we've been plagued with injuries on both sides of the ball, but can't we get a little creativity and urgency from both the coaches and the players?

I guess we should trade Andre too.

Good God, dude! Go cheer for the Dolphins if you think being a Texans fan is THAT hopeless!

Yes, it was a bad game by Texans and ill-timed to lose. Yes, I'm a little frustrated too.

Yes, it's obvious we STILL are not good enough but, don't blame Kuby. He's been trying to patch holes in a ship that was torpedoed courtesy of C&C's ineptitude. If you can't see improvement in this team despite numerous key injuries then may I suggest a less taxing sport for you to follow like shuffleboard.

"NO REAL SENSE OF DIRECTION?" You obviously forgot what we had the first 5 years in existence. THAT was an example of a ship without a rudder.

The Texans are just the Texans, every league needs a team to lose consistently. How else could the good teams compete for championships. They do have nice uniforms.

Tough loss. Really could've established ourselves with a big win against a legit AFC playoff contender in their place. Turnovers lose the game as usual...that Owen Daniels fumble was a huge momentum swing...if I'm not mistaken that was a converted 3rd down too. Offense was just totally out of sync in the passing game...that first quarter play on 4th down would've been a TD had Schaub either made a good throw to Daniels or hit Andre on the cross route. Gotta make those plays.

Beat Tennessee though, and we're still right there in the playoff picture. Not that I expect them to make it this year, but it'd be nice if it came down to that last game at home vs Jacksonville.

too much to ask for at this point. 2 games behind Cleveland. that means if cleveland goes 2-3 the rest of the year, the texans have to win out.
