ahem ....fixed also Charles 4 rush TDs Foster 14 rush TDs Charles 455 recev yds Foster 594 recev yds Charles Foster
Nope, he basically just added to the conversation by saying that Tebow was making the plays that quarterbacks in this league have to make. As of right now, he is not emotionally invested in the Texans. Hopefully, at some point in the next 3 months however, he will be.
Wait, does anyone actually believe that?? I mean, Colts on MNF?? The only game they got way behind early was the Titans game. And that was still the first quarter. The others were still within 2 scores for most of the first 3 quarters. No wonder Kubiak had such success in Denver. It's a simple system to run that gets points and yards at an alarming rate. Yet there are STILL situations where the system or players may put you on the spot to make a call. Kubiak can not do it. Shanahan was so much better at it it hid Kube's issues on the matter.
Now come on..... That's not fair as you know you gotta use the receiving TDs. Charles got 2 of those today even! Oh wait. That doesn't help Charles much either.
If that fine offense of the 2nd half had showed up for 1st halves of games this season the record might be reversed. They moved the ball, but sputtered. Which in theory should allow your defense to rest. You can't dog the defense when they are back on the field 3 plays after getting off it/giving up points. How is this: The offensive players are fine for the most part. Changing the head coach/OC would probably only improve that side of the ball due to game management/playcalling.
Yes, but I have seen no indications that Dungy will return to the sidelines. He looks happy and at peace - he gets to spend time with the family and work with his Christian Foundation. Why would he sign on to captain the Titanic?
So what was that stat they showed today? Only 2 other teams have ever given up at least 24 points in 14 games during the regular season? The Texans joined them today and in all likelihood will become the first team to give up at least 24 points in 15 games, the lone exception being then Titans game when they were starting a 3rd string, 6th round rookie QB in his first start.
wow, it is amazing Foster is still leading in rushing considering how underused he has been. No excuse for only 5 carries in the 2nd half...especially with a 5 yard avg. carry... Late in the game, Schaub's head obviously was still ringing, and yet pass only mode, wtf?...sure be balanced...jeez. Time for a change, but yea I wanted the loss to push the owner's hand. . .It still hurts being a fan, but better draft pick, force out...actually what's not to love about today?
I don't think it's even just Foster. He's still 6th in the NFL in carries but the Texans are 21st in carries as a team. I'd be fine with giving Ward some more carries in addition to what Foster's getting. Ward had 1 carry today Believe it or not, despite the emergence of Arian Foster, we're running the ball a little less than we did last year when our running game sucked. In fact, we're on pace to run the ball the least number of times in our existence. Carries per game. 2010: 25.7 (through 15 games) 2009: 26.5 2008: 27 2007: 26.1 2006: 26.9 (first year under Kubiak) 2005: 27.3 2004: 30 2003: 26.3 2002: 26.5 We'd need to run the ball 31 times on Sunday to equal the number of times we ran it in 2007. When you consider that we have the league leading rusher and a backup that's averaging 5.5 yards per carry, it really is amazing that we're actually running the ball less than we ever had. All those years when we had a super ****ty ground game and now we're running the ball less? WTF?
The nfl is a passing league. CJ had 2000 yards what did the titans do. Do the pats have a great RB, Colts, Chargers, Pittsburg?
yes, I see that NFL.com updated it. but lets look at another stat.... Foster: 296 att Charles: 216 att dude, that's 80 less attempts, and Charles is averaging 6.4 ypc. So if he gets another 80 carries (that is like 4 more games) even at 6 ypc, thats another 480 yards which would put Charles in the 1700-1800 yrds range. The TD's are kinda moot. KC has a redzone bulldozer who does that job. If Thomas Jones wasn't there, Charles would have higher TD numbers. also one other stat.... Kansas City: Playoffs Houston: top 10 draft pick trollface.jpg
Best thing about this loss...Bob McNair won't be able to live in a bubble next week when he's in his suite seeing all the empty seats in vocal, angry fans. Too easy to soften up Houston fans, but dragging in with another loss means everyone is going to give it to them.
i love listening to 610 after the game, especially after a loss. the fans are ripping the entire organization a new one. And the sad part is they see all the problems with the Texans down to the t yet management is just clueless.
yeah aside from those two callers in particular, everything was spot on. It's Kubiak's fault that AJ doesn't get more touchdowns. A caller brought it up that if Kubiak is just an offensive genius, how in the heck does he let other defenses take away AJ? You FIND a way to get him the ball.
Says it all right there. Landry, you are a great poster most of the time, but you can't use Charles splitting duties with Jones as an excuse for why Foster has more yards. He's splitting duties because he isn't good enough to do it alone. Either it's his endurance or his durability. Something is not allowing him to be an every down back. Warrick Dunn used to do that with the Bucs and Alstott. He went to Atlanta to be the man, but that guy from Michigan State came in and they went with the semi-platoon system. Didn't have the durability or endurance to be the man year in year out.
