Make a play on the ball? Yes. Make a play by tackling the receiver prior to the ball's arrival? No. Defenders are not allowed to make significant contact with the receiver after the ball is thrown and before the ball arrives. That is, by definition, defensive pass interference. I don't disagree that Yates did a better job throwing to him, but the reduced aggression by Cincy's DBs was also a factor in Hopkins 2nd half success.
Yep. He was covered very tightly. And in some cases illegally. But they made sure he was always accounted for. Even when it was man coverage, Jones made sure he was always close to Hopkins. Revis won't need much help since Hopkins is not a speedy receiver. He's smart and usually is in good position. See Edelman, Amari, and Sammy. All subpar numbers when facing the Jets secondary.
Hopkins Hoyer as QB: 6 targets, 3 catches, for 31 yards. Yates as QB: 5 targets, 2 catches, for 26 yards. So, no, almost all of his production didn't from Yates.
I was really surprised by the win. I'm still not sure how that happened really. Kudos to the defense gameplan.
so they got to wear sweatpants back home? i bet hopkins, jackson and joseph were p.o'd ! those fashionistas I tell you.
Strange article... was he throwing in his own personal 2 cents in with the letterman stuff and the dis of JJ? Pretty sure the nation doesn't give a rats ass about the Texans... winning or losing... let alone them being a "tough team to swallow".
Yeah, that's why it stood out. The way he wrote it, seems that he has beef with the team...or displaying his sour grapes....
A tough team to swallow?? Really?? We're not relevant enough for that. The national media's perception of all Houston teams is really washed up and tired.
