The branding talk turns me off of him, I get that young athletes are more concerned about their long term future earnings. I can respect it. I just want someone that is football first.
Yeah, I don’t think they would do it either. It’s too bad. They probably can’t believe how lucky they are right now.
Agreed and believe that was his underlying point. But also understand the concern about his comments on early playing time and branding.
You keep hearing all this unanimous praise for Linderbaum. I’d be happy with him at 13 but if Casserio can trade back up from 37 into the bottom of the first for him it would be amazing.
If you are the Texans, would you trade your 13 and your 2nd round pick for a chance to grab the Sauce if he was still there. Get two young studs on the outside?
Personally, I wouldn't. The Texans have holes everywhere. Having two young stud CBs is a luxury. Now if one of them slips to 13 or Hamilton is there and you just happen to take two DBs with your first two picks, I'm definitely not mad at that. But I don't think they're in a position to waste a high second rounder when they have so many holes to fill. There's going to be some really good players in the 30s.
If we take Stingley, it would be the highest a CB has ever been selected in the NFL draft. Couple that with his past injury and I am concerned. I would be in favor of selecting Ekwonu, the best OL in the draft. We'd have an absolute monster locking down the O-line for 10+ years... protect your QB and open up holes for RBs.
It seems pretty clear the media has no idea what the Texans are going to do but can't just say that because they have to fill a non-stop requirement for new content. For a little while it was Evan Neal. Then it was Sauce. Now it is Stingley.....
I will say, I find it weird Sauce and Stingley are leaked as heavy as they are. Maybe they are trying to entice a team to jump to 2 so the Texans can get Hutchinson
