Hamilton at 3 would be really stupid; he even says safeties are valuable in today's league which isn't true
I've seen the knocks about sauce on his tackling and physicality but…my whole thing is when teams avoid throwing to you or your side of the field then it is hard to show your tackling ability because you rarely see any action. Also I’m not comparing them in no way but Deion wasn’t necessarily known for his tacking ability or physicality either.
https://theathletic.com/3249591/202...s-eagles-trade-up-for-defensive-cornerstones/ 1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Michigan 2. Detroit Lions – Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Oregon 3. Houston Texans – Charles Cross, Offensive Tackle, Mississippi State The Texans have needs all over the roster, but with the top edge rushers gone and Davis Mills flashing some starter-level production and consistency in 2021, it would serve Houston well to start building as though it has a short-term answer at quarterback. Tackles leaving Air Raid systems are usually battling against the stigma of having technical deficiencies covered up by the scheme, but Cross’s tape flashes the footwork and punch needed to handle NFL-level pass rushers. 4. New York Jets – Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, Cornerback, Cincinnati 5. New York Giants – Evan Neal, Offensive Tackle, Alabama 6. Carolina Panthers – Ikem Ekwonu, Offensive Tackle, NC State 7. New York Giants – Travon Walker, Edge, Georgia 8. Atlanta Falcons – Malik Willis, Quarterback, Liberty 9. Houston Texans (via trade with Seahawks) – Kyle Hamilton, Safety, Notre Dame With Willis and the star edge rushers off the board, Seattle is incentivized to back out of the top 10 and stockpile draft capital for what may be available in the teens. Houston, having already addressed a major need on offense, is trading up to add some juice to its secondary. Kyle Hamilton had some of his sheen wear off this spring, but the modest 40-yard dash times don’t take away from his film, and Lovie Smith’s zone-heavy scheme allows him to both roam in the deep half of the field and drop into the box on blitz schemes. Safeties do most of the heavy lifting in Houston’s coverage schemes, and few have better instincts or get to the ball more efficiently than Hamilton, making for a near ideal fit. 10. Philadelphia Eagles (via trade with N.Y. Jets) – Derek Stingley Jr., Cornerback, LSU 11. Washington Commanders – Drake London, Wide Receiver, USC 12. Minnesota Vikings – Trent McDuffie, Cornerback, Washington 13. New Orleans (via trade with Seahawks) – Desmond Ridder, Quarterback, Cincinnati 14. Baltimore Ravens – George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue 15. Philadelphia Eagles – Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State 16. Seattle Seahawks (via trade with Saints) – Jermaine Johnson, Edge, Florida State 17. Los Angeles Chargers – Trevor Penning, Offensive Tackle, Northern Iowa 18. New York Jets (via trade with Eagles) – Garrett Wilson, Wide Receiver, Ohio State 19. New Orleans Saints – Jameson Williams, Wide Receiver, Alabama 20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Bernhard Raimann, Offensive Tackle, Central Michigan 21. New England Patriots – Andrew Booth Jr., Cornerback, Clemson 22. Green Bay Packers – Treylon Burks, Wide Receiver, Arkansas 23. Arizona Cardinals – Jordan Davis, Defensive Tackle, Georgia 24. Dallas Cowboys – Devonte Wyatt, Defensive Tackle, Georgia 25. Buffalo Bills – Tyler Linderbaum, Center, Iowa 26. Tennessee Titans – Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Utah 27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Lewis Cine, Safety, Georgia 28. Green Bay Packers – Nakobe Dean, Linebacker, Georgia 29. Kansas City Chiefs – Kaiir Elam, Cornerback, Florida 30. Kansas City Chiefs – George Pickens, Wide Receiver, Georgia 31. Cincinnati Bengals – Zion Johnson, Guard, Boston College 32. Detroit Lions – Matt Corral, Quarterback, Ole Miss
I thought McClain retired, why is General Diabetes still bumping his gums...that dude was useless before and even more useless now...
walker at 3 then jordan davis at 13 dont miss on generational talent now if we suck next season then we'll get another chance at a top DB next draft
Lovie already met with Sauce. I want Gardener at 3 and Hamilton at 13. I know we need some DL help but we are most bereft of talent in the secondary.
If we go CB at 1.03, then I'd want a big player at 1.13 -- either an OL or an Edge... and it doesn't appear that the top OL talent (Neal, Ekwonu, Cross) will last past 1.10... which pushes me to want either CB or Edge at 1.13... which then leads me to want OL at 1.03... Drafts I could get behind: The best OL at 1.03 (Evan Neal or Ekwonu) and Stingley at 1.13 Travon Walker at 1.03 and Drake London at 1.13 Neal/Ekwonu at 1.03; Jermaine Johnson at 1.13 The thought would be to balance 1 offensive pick and 1 defensive pick and get a minimum of one "big player" (either OL or Edge).
