I like the idea of trading down especially if one of the teams with multiple first fall in love with someone and are willing to part ways with a lot of picks… the team is severely lacking in talent all across the board and the more shots we get at this the better.
Mel Kiper also put out a mock (don’t have Insider) https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/dr...ams-aidan-hutchinson-malik-willis-nakobe-dean https://theathletic.com/3075920/202...k-2-0-has-a-new-no-1-pick-and-more-surprises/ 1. Jacksonville — Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State After numerous conversations with NFL scouts and league execs in preparation for this mock, there were two key takeaways that led me to Ekwonu here. First, there are several evaluators around the league who have Ekwonu ranked higher than Alabama’s Evan Neal and Mississippi State’s Charles Cross. Second, several evaluators agreed that in a draft class missing a no-brainer top prospect, they prefer the tackles over the pass rushers. I have no clue how the Jaguars feel, but Ekwonu at least belongs in this conversation. A three-year starter at NC State, Ekwonu has impressive movements for his size and generates extraordinary explosion at contact. He lacks refinement and is guilty of over-setting, but he is nimble, powerful and should get better and better as his technique and awareness mature. Ekwonu’s tape shows a tackle who can also play guard, not the other way around. For more on Ekwonu, this deep dive from Bruce Feldman is a great read. 2. Detroit — Aidan Hutchinson, edge, Michigan 3. Houston — Kayvon Thibodeaux, edge, Oregon Is there a quarterback in this draft class who is a clear upgrade over Davis Mills? I don’t think so, and I doubt the Texans will either. Thibodeaux isn’t universally loved around the league, but he is one of the more talented players in this draft. He knows how to create leverage as a pass rusher due to his length and athleticism and is highly physical vs. the run. Fans expecting Myles Garrett or Chase Young will be disappointed, but that doesn’t mean Thibodeaux can’t make an immediate impact of his own. 4. NY Jets — Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU 5. There's 3 star level players. Add in Kinnard instead of Walker at 37 and you've fixed the OL and added the 2 best defensive players in this draft. I really hope this happens.
Same here I could see the Giants landing Watson, I could see the appeal of these two high draft picks straight up - that may not seem like a lot but talk about excitement for this year in the Fall
I know the giants have two top 10 picks but I’d still much rather have the picks from Watson trade spread out over time.
https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jer...ft-1-0-kenny-pickett-malik-willis-among-3-qbs 1. Jacksonville Jaguars SELECTION: Evan Neal, OT School: Alabama | Year: Junior 2. Detroit Lions SELECTION: Aidan Hutchinson, Edge School: Michigan | Year: Senior 3. Houston Texans SELECTION: Kyle Hamilton, S School: Notre Dame | Year: Junior Hamilton feels like the “Patriot pick” for NE South. Hamilton is big, fast, versatile and smart. Those characteristics are highly valued in New England, where Texans GM Nick Caserio spent the past two decades. 4. New York Jets SELECTION: Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge School: Oregon | Year: Junior 5. New York Giants SELECTION: Ikem Ekwonu, OT School: N.C. State | Year: Sophomore (RS)
I would HATE it if the draft went down like that. I don't mind Thibodeaux over Neal at all. Matter of fact I actually like Ekwonu, Hamilton and Cross better than Neal as well. But it's the top of the 2nd that would be oh so frustrating to me. Elam, McCreary and Raimann going right in front of us would be just terrible to me. Those 3, along with Trevor Penning and possibly Trent McDuffie are who I'm hoping (at least 1 of) will fall to us at 2-5. If the draft went down like that I would take either George Pickens or Arnold Ebiketie, edge, Penn State. I do like Walker at rb but I think that is too high for the position unless it's a transcendent talent. And even then it should only be one of the last pieces you add to your playoff competing team, not when you're rebuilding and would waste his 1st 2-3 years worth of carries/mileage. I'm looking for Zach Charbonnet or Tyler Allgeier in the 4th round or later. We definitely need to draft one (or two) rb's this year.
I'm looking for Kinnard or Salyers at 2-37, but wouldn't be upset with Pickens. Charbonnet (Who I really like) went back to UCLA.
If we hire Gannon he comes from that zimmer tree and he coached in Minnesota a guy by the name of Harrison smith and I have a feeling we will draft Kyle Hamilton.
The new head coach will definitely influence the thought process so I’m hoping we make the right hire.please please
Bucky Brooks mock https://www.nfl.com/news/bucky-broo...corral-only-qbs-selected?campaign=Twitter_atn‘ 1. Jacksonville - Evan Neal, OT, Alabama 2. Detroit - Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Michigan 3. Houston Texans SELECTION: Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge School: Oregon Year: Junior The electric pass rusher has a boom-or-bust feel to his game, but his raw tools are just too enticing to ignore. If NFL coaching can fully unlock his potential, Thibodeaux could shine as a shop wrecker off the edge on Sundays. 4. NY Jets - Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State 5. NY Giants - Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
I would LOVE IT if the draft went down like this! That would remove Neal from us taking him (I like Ekwonu better) and let one of the top 2 edge rushers fall to us. The jets really want an edge rusher and we could probably get their 2nd rounder to drop down 1 spot so they could get Thibodeaux. Then we could get Hamilton or Ekwonu or even trade down again to a QB needy team! That would be a dream scenario for me! Trade down once to #4 and then once again to the 6-10 range and still get one of Ekwonu, Hamilton or Sauce Gardner while picking up two more 2nds and a 3rd. That would give us three 2nd's and three 3rd's BEFORE figuring in anything we might get in a Deshaun trade! Rebuild ON!!!
