You answered my question. Every QB can run, if necessary. I'm sure I can pull up a video of Brady or Testaverde escaping the pocket.

What I'm saying is, Pep has only coached the same type of QBs, one type of offense. They are ALL the same, Testaverde, Luck, Herbert, Grossman, etc., etc. Pep hasn't done anything else, he only know one thing.

Pep will never feature his QBs in R.P.O's, he will never think outside of the box, i.e, Andy Reid, Pep is conservative in nature, similar to BOB

Luck is similar to Cam Newton, I guess that's why the ended up the same but Herbert is no where near Watson athletically.

Luck and Herbert are nothing like Testaverde and Grossman lol

    Except that they’re white quarterbacks.
But I forgot, you think white quarterbacks can’t be athletic.

You’re right, Herbert is more athletic

Texans didn't have much of an R option in an RPO scheme last year.

    LOL good stuff!

CJ Stroud is the best QB Ohio St has ever had so I'd take that gamble. Probability odds have to be in his favor considering all the other busts! He went nuclear to end the year, if he picks up where he left off it will be a moot issue and whoever has #1 next year would likely take him regardless of the witchy stuff surrounding their QB room.

I think he may be the best but i don’t think it’s as clear as you think. Cardale Jones had the best 3 game stint against top competition I’ve ever seen although he sucked after that. Troy smith was my favorite growing up, put up some solid numbers. Barrett was pretty impressive during his time, but not in Strouds level. Justin fields was pretty amazing. BUT DUDE, Dwayne Haskins? (RIP). Dude was same completion % more yards, 6 more TDs and only 2 more ints.. dude was a beast and I feel like stroud had the better receiving core.. I’m just saying I’ve watched buckeyes for a long time and I’ve thought so many qbs were great and none of them have transferred to the big stage.

Stroud is very comparable to Haskins imo.

"You're only as good as your last game" If Stroud regresses then I can see all the comps come alive - not sure I remember a Buckeye QB have a game like this Rose Bowl performance without digging up the box scores so maybe you could offer that anecdotal fan perspective. Im hardly an Ohio St fan!

Is CJ’s arm strength considered better than Bryce? Seems like he can make all the throws but that’s an excellent system for qbs.

Stroud arm isn’t better than Mills, solid arm but not anything to write home about.

He gets the ball down the field. He has more yards per attempt than Young, and more air yards per attempt. He wont dink and dunk for self preservation. Check the ball placement on some of those throws from the Rose Bowl. Anyone who says that his touch and arm strength are not impressive would be kidding themselves. Both QBs are very good. I happen to prefer the measurables that Stroud would bring with him over Young.

edit: on the system thing I agree that good WRs come through there, same thing could be said about Alabama though.

Stroud doesn’t have the arm talent Young does. Stroud and Mills are comparable arm talent with Mills probably a little stronger.

Bryce has a golden arm. Just not super fast or big

very true. That over the shoulder throw he made to #12 in the rose bowl was insane. Didn’t go for td but the ball placement was impressive.

Dude dropped several balls in the bucket during that game. I liked him before, but that performance put him over the top for me.
