That has literally never came out of my mouth lol I do have trust in Caserio, but not calling him BDN
It’s not that I hate the Green pick, just that there were probably comparable IOL available at our next pick that we could have had WITH Kyle Hamilton.. the fact that we could have had Stingley AND Hamilton to lock down our defensive backfield…
Let's just end this... top 10 rushers last year and their rounds... J Taylor - 2nd / 41 N Chubb - 2nd / 35 J Mixon - 2nd / 48 N Harris - 1st / 24 D Cook - 2nd / 41 A Gibson - 3rd / 66 E Elliott - 1st / 4 E Mitchell - 6th / 194 D Henry - 2nd / 45 D Harris - 3rd / 87 So all but 1 of the top 10 rushers were drafted 3rd or higher. Average draft position including the outlier Mitchell is 58.5 which is a late second. Without Mitchell the average draft position is 43. So as i said, if you want a mediocre running game you can do what you're suggesting... I prefer having a good running game for a difference of a few rounds.
I prefer Hamilton but was ok with the value they got to pass and get Petri instead. It was equivalent to a late second in points which could be an extra starter. Given the guards off the board right after Green he wasn't a huge reach. I would have traded a future pick to move to top of second for rb... maybe a high 3 this year and 2 next... maybe it wasn't there...
2 picks till "go time". There's still several decent ol prospects to choose from. Here's a "John Harris" sleeper pick I like: J'Atyre Carter ol Southern And Bo Melton could be our "Deebo" lite wr/rb/specialist. Also a good return man.
What team led the NFL in rushing last season? When did they draft their lead RB? Again, I'm talking about RB by committee... why would you think talking about individual stats would counter that?
Hmmm. Slow-footed ot that also lacks anchor base in the run game. From ESPN: OT Austin Deculus 6'5"321 lbs LSU 24 POS RK 289 OVR RK 40 GRADE Pre-Draft Analysis Deculus has long arms and active hands, but he's slow to get set, and he gets stressed by speed off the edge in pass pro. He takes good angles and gets some initial shock as a run-blocker. He lacks the lower-body strength and flexibility to uproot and drive defenders off the line. -- Steve Muench
