Do not make the mistake of assuming that Bonzi gives a rat's a** about the Rockets or Adelman or anybody else not named Bonzi because he doesn't. And if you think, he's going to be a happy camper here while making $2 million, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. He's still PO'd about kissing off that $40 million. He was supposed to perform last season in order to entice another team to pay him the big $$$ but he really screwed that plan. He's only coming back to the Rockets this year because he literally had nowhere else to go - no other team was going to pay him based on his act last year. The only thing Bonzi is dedicated to is his wallet and not the Rockets.

I'm sure he tried but he probably needed to speak very slowly and use lots of visual aids. It remains to be seen if he was able to get through to Bonzi for this year.

that won't be the difference.. the difference is he has played his best basketball in years for adelman 2 years ago.. and if he contributes better this year then adelman being the coach/or jvg not being there definitely has something to do with it..

and not because his agent got through to him..

I have to disagree with you here because what happened last year to Bonzi should not be blamed on JVG. Wells wasn't a happy camper when he got here - witness his announcement at the press conference announcing his signing that he was definitely going to opt out in a year. That's an awfully strange thing to say at the PC introducing you to your new team's fans. Unlike you I simply don't believe in him or what he says because AFAIK, he quit on the Rockets last year because he couldn't accept responsibility for his being a dumbass for passing up all that money at Sacramento. Also though he played 45 games for Adelman 2 years ago, I fail to see how you can conclude that Adelman will be able to get more out of him simply because of that because Bonzi doesn't care about coaches, teams or players - Bonzi simply wants to get paid, nothing else.

who isn't.. these are professioals we're talking about :)

so why didn't he get it done last year? why wait another year to get paid?

Because he screwed the pooch big time. The "plan" was for him to more or park himself in Houston for one season, showcase his skills and cash in. Needless to say that's not what happened more due to Bonzi than anything else. I just think he never got over the fact that it was his own hubris that cost him $34 million and he looked to blame everyone but himself for his predicament so his spin job was to implicate JVG as the tyrant coach who "persecuted" poor Bonzi.

I think that's still the "plan" but it remains to be seen if Bonzi has the discipline to carry it out. But rest assured: his primary motivation here is not to win but to get paid.

agree wholeheartedly that JVG is not totally responsible for a disgruntled, overweight, unfit dissident.

i'm not a Wells' apologist but the issue does comment on JVG's ability to include/motivate/involve/inspire.

yah could argue JVG's degree of culpability. imo, a decent to average coach is aware of player perspectives, good to great coaches will find ways to inspire with that awareness, spectacular coaches use the the thinnest read to generate a best effort scenario + they place players in highly successful scenarios.

best regards to JVG. hope upon everything i hold dear, YAH NEVER COME BACK THIS WAY AGAIN.

Agreed. Bonzi admitted he never got over turning down the money. How is that JVG's fault? What did JVG do to make Fatzi eat like a horse during the summer and show up looking like the Goodyear blimp? People need to forget that playoff series with the Spurs and look at Bonzie's career. Those Spurs games were a one-time career fluke that will never be repeated. That Bonzi lived for only two weeks and has died and gone to another place. Adelman might get more out of Bonzi than JVG did, but that ain't sayin' much. IMO, the organization and the other players will have less collective patience than last season simply because of what happened last season. I place the odds of Bonzi finishing the season on the Rockets at <50%. I hope he surprises me.

I personally predict Bonzi to be a bust... Again. MJ will be a major bust. Francis would turn out alright... But start limping in the playoffs. AB has some abilities, but his lack of experience would cost us dearly during the post season. Our point woes would continue... Scola would be mediocre, and we'd have to rely on Chuck, Head and the old bunch again... And regret trading Alston for cap relief. We'd be out of running in two rounds. (which is an improvement, but not much better off) Call me a pessimist, cuz that's what I am. Ha.

Screw Bonzi. In a word, heart always >>>> talent. What would talent do if you had no heart to utilize it? Bonzi sucks. That's all. Thank you.

Everything that he said is certainly possible. Please tone down your responses a little. Clutchfans is not about personal attacks, its about sharing opinions. If you want to insult someone for expressing an opinion take it to the D&D or to realgm.

It's also possible that a UFO could land tomorrow and zap us all with laser and take over the planet. That doesn't make his post any less annoying and grating.

In fact, I apparently had enough impact that Mehdi added me to her tag. Wow, I am flattered... really, I am. I forgot about you two. Who are you, again? Did you add anything meaningful to this thread? I usually remember insightful posts. I can't remember any from a Chile or Mehdi. Hmmm... oh well, I tend to forget the meaningless stuff. Hah, ha ha. See ya'.
