I don't disagree with those statements. Those %s were used to compare Francis to Sura only.

I agree that it is not worthy of discussion. Sura had a couple decent games but was not even a good spot-up shooter in Houston. He had 1 or 2 games where he was hot from 3 but that is about it.

Steve Francis as a shot clock killer got nothing on Charles Barkley...the ultimate shot clock killer.

Well according to Morey, Adelman is planning to use Francis in the same exact role he used Bobby jackson off the bench in Sacramento. does that mean were still gonna keep rafer and have james as he's backup?..

    Rafer/James/Brooks
    Tracy/Francis/Head
    Battier/Wells/Snyder
    Scola/Hayes/Novak or landry
    Yao/Deke/Butler
That leaves Jake, Reed and harris out on the cold. we'll probaly put harris ,Big jake and landry on the injured list and cut Reed.

And you need to concentrate on your rapidly deteriorating Pistons roster.

Hey genius, we have a new GM, he didn't sign Bonzi originally our old GM did. And nobody called Francis the answer, we already considered this team a contender prior to Francis joining. And you obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about because the Rockets didn't sign Howard as a free agent he came to the Rocks in the McGrady deal. Ooops! :p

One of Morey's comments after the press conference was interesting... when asked about the guard glut he said something to the effect of:

We consider Steve to be the best guy out there. We just didn't know whether he would be available and whether eh would pick us. Had we known we'd get him, we probably wouldn't make the same moves. [And I am guessing Morey meant the acquisition of James and Brooks].

Now, it seems to me that Morey valued Francis more than James and Brooks for the immediate future. Knowing Morey, there's probably some evidence (statistical, medical, and otherwise) on which his preference is based.

If Morey feels comfortable with Steve Francis, and Adelman feels comfortable with Steve Francis, I feel comfortable with Steve Francis.

The next question then is, if a decent deal is available for James or Brooks, whether Morey would take it.

Tell me, what is Steve doing in the highlights halfway through (35 sec in) this post-game interview?

I think that's called spot up shooting.

We won't trade James after laboring so hard to get him. I personally think it's possible to make it work with all the guards we have except Luther. I think Luther has become trade bait as Alston still has value as a backup point guard, plus Alston has lower trade value comparing to Luther. Also, one of the draft picks ( not Brooks though ) alongside Novak and Jackie Butler can be packaged for a decent backup big man...kind of like the Jake Tskalidis type.

I think anyone outside of Tmac and Yao, and possibly SF (one year deal, would look bad on the organization) is available, if the right deal came along.

I would trade James in a heartbeat.....but not before I tried to unload Alston.

We will not, and should not, trade Brooks. Young, talented PGs are hard to come by and we found one. Brooks is a keeper.

Boy James is really going to feel like a cheap prostitute if we move him again.

    The Cardinals? The Cardinals?

    Anthony Reyes?

    Jeff Weaver?

    The Cardinals?

Oh, but that wasn't like the biggest upset in the last 10 years. No, I think that would have been:

    Cleveland?

    Cleveland?

    Daniel Gibson?

    Daniel Gibson?

I never would have brought up the ghosts of Gibson and Reyes...but you started it- and I FINISHED IT !!!!!!!!!!

    BA-ZING!!

Anthony Reyes will haunt your franchise forever.

Best potential Rockets team ever assembled. Plain and simple. And, it is likely to get better with the subsequent moves.

    Yao / Mutumbo / Butler
    Scola / Hayes
    Battier / Wells
    McGrady / Head
    Franics / James / Brooks

Reserves: Novak, Harris, Reed, Sura, Landry, Lucas, Alston, Snyder. Best trade out of the bunch!!!!

Let's not forget that Wells and Francis can walk next year if they don't like their roles. So depth will be important for the subsequent years. We've got to keep Head and possibly Snyder.
