I would rather Francis start, but MJ will be a great sixth man I think. He could have a Jerry Stackhouse role.

Dumb question, but how much are we signing him for?

If the new offense can prevent Steve's overdribbling and bad shot selection, he'll really be an asset. He is one of the better rebounding PG's and can help out on the long rebounds (that killed us in the Utah series).

    2.4 M first year.
    2.6 M second year. SF's option.

I have hopes that MJ will be good for us. But last year, he was far worse than SF was especially considering Steve's injuries.

If MJ can get back to semblance of what he was, then that will be great. But I don't have real high hopes of that. Judging by the recent play of Rafer, Steve, and MJ, MJ comes in third.

Correction: 3.6 second year. SF's option.
    [No big deal.]

I'm glad to see Stevie back to home. I don't really know what he will give to us but hey, let's try and hope in his rebirth.

This is my take on SF coming back. I think it's good so long as Stevie works within the system. Potentially instead of having 3 or 4 who can score 15-20+ pts per game last year, we potentially have now 6 or 7 who can consistently put up double digits. Francis is one of the best rebounding guards out there. If SFdoes what he is capable of with his talent instead of trying to do everything because he was the man the first couple of years here. So, now all these guys need to do is play their game and this year is going to be huge. Imagine not one of our players needing to play more than 35 minutes a game and we don't lose a beat when T-Mac and Yao are on the bench! BOOYAH!

To Spurs and Savs fans in the words of Dennis Hopper "... bad things, man. Bad things."

    Starting Lineup:
    PG- Steve Francis
    SG- Shane Battier
    SF- Tracy McGrady
PF- Luis Scola or Chuck Hayes

This year's roster with Steve and Bonzi - strong rebounders at their positions might allow HOU to play with Battier at PF, T-mac at SF and Yao/Scola at C...The offense will be so much better with this line-up, as long as they can share the ball

I would be happy if Stevie plays like Bobby Sura in 2005 postseason. He just needs to bring his passion, rebounding ability and a little bit of clutchness to this team. And last but not least, DRIBBLE less.

The reported 6mill deal is incorrect. It is impossible because it exceeds the maximum raise one can receive. The deal is actually closer to 5mill.

I have to confess I have been negative about Steve's dribbling propensity, but I am psyched as hell to have him back just for emotional reasons. The Rockets are even more must-watch than ever!!!

The depth we currently have is mind boggoling.
    James/Brooks/Alston
    Wells/Head/Snyder
    Snyder/Wells/Reed
    Hayes/Butler/Novak
    Deke/Butler/Big jake.
Thats just the bench. that team alone is a playoffs contender in the east and probaly a 10 th seed in the west.
