I agree that Yao and Tmac can shoot. Don't know about Scola. But I don't think James, Francis, Head, or Battier are what you would call shooters. Maybe their stats are better than I think. It's the mid-range jump shooting skill that would help a LOT. Hitting 3's as a specialist doesn't make one a shooter. Head and Battier mostly shot 3's. Novak may not get much PT and yet according to Tmac is one of the best shooters he's ever seen. Brooks may or may not be a shooter. Scorers we have an abundance of. That I don't dispute. Credit given. My P.S. was ONLY about the Francis deal. And I don't think that was much skill or cunning on Morey's part. Francis didn't need the money because of the buyout. It's hard to judge the Scola deal because, after all, he was dealing with, Lindsey, a former Rocket. Spurs fans didn't appreciate what Lindsey did. I'm not sure James didn't already have his sights set on Houston. The talk was that that deal was being worked on since last February. Bonzi only had to decide not to opt out of his second year. I think Adelman was the deciding factor there. You are right. These deals have happened on his watch. But maybe genius level was not needed in these instances. But I'm pulling for him. I have nothing but good wishes and hope for the whole organization.
P.S. to my last post: Maybe shooters won't be needed as much in Adelman's system. So it may be a moot point.

How can anyone be against this move? You add talent for free when you couldn't even guarantee him as much playing time as miami. If Scola is the real deal and Bonzi comes back with a vengeance this team is as loaded as any in the league. Look at it this way: last year the rockets were playing 3 on 5 offensively by starting hayes/alston. With james/francis and scola they should have 5 legit weapons on the court at all times. And one of francis/james and bonzi coming off the bench for reserve firepower.
I'm excited. We're stacked with talent. Especially at guard Rafer or Luther will be traded. maybe both.

there should be a battle for the starting PG spot. mike james, steve francis, aaron brooks, and rafer alston if he's still here should all battle it out. i think aaron brooks is our best pure PG behind rafer and Adelman really loves brooks so that will be interesting.

It was funny listening to the Sports Radio guys interview Steve today, and you can tell in Steve's voice that he's been listening to them and knew they were talking sh_t.
