Whao, what the hell? I haven't listened to sports talk radio all day (too depressed about the Astros) and hadn't been by CF and this is what greets me?! Holy crap, I fully expected Steve to join Cat in LA - I do not believe this! I'm shocked, shocked, shocked! And now I have 860+ messages to read through - goddammit people!

    :D

Let me add my 'Wow' to this thread. Did not see this coming. Morey just keeps coming up with surprises, doesn't he? Wow.

That said, Adelman has quite a job ahead of him. Will he be able to get the most out of the talent and keep everyone happy and on the same page?

But however this all turns out, I'm glad to see how aggressive (and smart) the Rockets have been this off season so far. I'm excited about this coming season!

I actually think so. I think Francis, Wells, and James are all humbled men.

Francis has had a horrific past few years. Jame's last season wasn't down right depressing and he's looking at the beginning of his later years of his career.

Wells started last year by losing money and then realizing that he was just not a contributor or important anymore. OUch.

What's really the question is that do these guys have enough in them to bounce back. Probably. Definitely Francis. Not sure about Wells and James.

The beauty of it is that they are in the almost-perfect situation to succeed. Getting like 12 ppg out of each of them would be a blessing for McGrady and Yao and it's not like Wells, James, or Francis hasn't been able to do that before.

i am happy tht we got him but i now regret picking up mike james. so i guess we are gonna trade rafer alston...we have to many PG's/SG's.

    next years starting lineup

Mike James G-9.6 ppg 4.7 apg 1.3 spg
Steve Francis G-11.2 ppg 4.8 rpg 1.0 spg
Tracy Mcgrady G/F-25.8 ppg 6.2 apg 5.4 rpg
Shane Battier F-8.2 ppg 3.8 rpg 1.2 bpg
Yao Ming C-19.5 ppg 8.2 rpg 1.6 bpg

i guess we should keep Rafer as backup PG...but we need to get rid of JL3 for sure. cuz we also have Aaron Brooks.

I think the rox are gonna be a good team this upcoming season :D

what a very deep guards may be one of the best in the league... James, Alston, Head, Brooks, McGrady and now Francis...

Even they Parker, Nash, Baron Davis and Paul.. they dont any chance with our guards..

I love you, Francis. I always love your passion and fire. Morey is a godly GM.

dont forget bonzi and kirk snyder as well.

but all of those guards play PG and they are still all better than any of our guards except tmac. but if were gonna go by committee its not bad at all. no way will all those other pgs will be able to burn us without have to play defense on the other end too. that was my biggest beef with rafer...he got burnt and didnt put enough pressure on the defense as a legitimite scoring threat

Everyone says Steve was a ballhog but his career average in Houston is 5.96 assists in five years with Houston about the same assist numbers Rafer (6.1) had in two seasons in Houston. I think other than that everyone admits he is better for this team than Rafer and at that price no reason to complain. Understand to this is a motion offense Mike Bibby is not a pass first point guard but he did well because he did not always have to create shots fro everyone Divacs, Webber and Miller did that. The question should be how good of a passer is Yao and Scola.
