The worst thing about this Francis trade is that it has suddenly given people the green light to post whatever stupid, crazy ass trade idea they can think of. Since, obviously, if we could get steve back and that was a longshot, then a trade for sura, rafer and JLIII can get us Yi jianlian.
So the press conference is at 3:33 pm tomorrow. Hmm ... 3 3 3 ... me me me. Not a good beginning to the notion that he has changed in my opinion. I hope to hear otherwise at the press conference that he knows his place, realizes that he is not the Franchise anymore, and is behind Yao and Tracy.
Predictions for next season: - Both T-Mac and Mike James will have an on-court altercation with Francis in a real game. - Bonzi and Mike James will try to kill Francis in his sleep - Francis will get benched for Aaron Brooks who will be a breakthrough star his rookie year.
Oh please . Maybe in two years at the earliest, but next season? Come on. You're not going to play a rookie over Steve Francis and Mike James. That's ridiculous
When everyone has a common purpose in mind and everything is going well there aren't any chemistry issues. If the team starts sucking it up with no end in sight the rockets are going to become the NBA's new reality TV show.
1 - James 2 - SF 3 - TMac 4 - Scola 5 - Yao I like that lineup, then 1 - Brooks 2 - Bonzi 3 - Battier 4 - Hayes 5 - Butler/ Mutombo Whoa! Head, Synder, et al are still on the bench. Folks, the Rockets have more talent than they have had since the Championship years.
I have been on this site since 11 this morning and I was on last night until 4 30 A.M. I rarely write unless I am beaming with excitement or have some type of information that is relevant. I haven't felt this optimistic in years. And this after a game seven loss in the playoffs that I thought exposed our obvious lack of talent/depth/heart. I have just been pondering matchups, lineups ...whatnot.... Every second quarter Tmac sits out about four to five minutes in the beginning. This is where Steve and Bonzi come in to provide a spark off the bench. Maybe throw in Brooks there as the season progresses. Either way, STEVE WILL BE THE SECOND COMING OF THE KINGS' BOBBY JACKSON....BANK ON IT. Adelman will use him the exact same way...both are decent/mediocre shooters but great slashers with a fearless mentality. And Bobby was injury riddled and on the decline before flourishing off the bench in sac town (which parralels Steve's situation). Trade Alston/Sura Contract/JL III for serviceable backup big bc Deke can't cut it in Adelman's system. maybe even package Head...James will knock down the shots he hits so he is expendable. The kinks have to be worked out but the rotation may be like this... James/Francis/ Brooks TMac/Bonzi/Francis Battier/Bonzi Scola/(mystery man)/ Hayes Ming/ (mystery man)/ Butler Butler and Hayes will be in and out of the ten player rotation which, including the mystery man, is a SOLID NINE.... NINE!!!! can you believe how stacked we became on talent. Go easy on the back Tmac....and easy on the shoulder Yao....save up for the playoffs. That is all.
A little nostalgia: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OFTll4YK6TA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OFTll4YK6TA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> I think he's still capable of doing this stuff, especially with the lack of wear and tear he's had over the past 2 seasons. Plus, at 30, he should be in his prime for anothe couple seasons. Guys, we just got an absolute STEAL.
Dude, you are out of it. There is no way that Brooks will move ahead of both Francis AND James. I think he will be excellent off the bench though. He can get the job done off the bench. The Spurs, Mavs, and Suns better watch out. Utah is not even a blimp on the radar anymore for this team.
