I am reeling from so many SPLASHES that I feel like Generic Blonde #3 in the latest group-grope porno...
I think the BBS is crashing repeatedly from the weight of too many people... SF3's TS% is 57 which is very good. That makes him a great option for the 2. Put alston (if he's still around) at the 1. Keep alston from shooting and the ball out of SF's hands when he's not attempting to score and you have a match!
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2942354 Steve Francis is going home. Francis After three years of struggles in Orlando and New York, the former All-Star guard will return to the place of his greatest glory, the Houston Rockets. Francis was in Houston on Thursday to sign a two-year contract worth roughly $6 million with the Rockets. The club will announce the signing at a newsconference on Friday. "We're extremely pleased that he's going back to Houston," his agent, Jeff Fried, told The Associated Press. "Houston has always been home for Steve since he entered the NBA." The 30-year-old Francis was recently bought out of the remaining two years, $34 million of his previous contract by the Portland Trail Blazers. He received nearly $31 million in the deal. With money being no factor, Francis chose the Rockets over Miami, Dallas and the Clippers. The Heat are believed to have offered him more money. According to a person close to Francis, he chose Houston largely because of his familiarity with the organization and the city. He has kept a home there since joining the club in 1999, and it was the site of his best years in the NBA. As a high-flying point guard for the Rockets, Francis made three All-Star games and was regarded as one of the top players in the league. Francis' career began to decline when he clashed with coach Jeff Van Gundy, who had replaced Francis favorite Rudy Tomjanovich, in 2003. Though Van Gundy helped Francis get to the playoffs for the first and only time in his career, his deliberate style of offense rubbed Francis the wrong way, and his scoring average dropped from 21 points per game to 16.6. Francis was traded to Orlando for Tracy McGrady the following year. But while McGrady was outstanding in Houston, Francis failed to regain his form and was eventually dealt to New York to team with Stephon Marbury in the backcourt. That experiment failed as well, as Francis ended up in a reserve role behind Jamal Crawford while struggling with minor knee injuries. Finally, the Knicks traded Francis to Portland in a draft-night trade that sent Zach Randolph to New York. The Blazers had agreed to buy out Francis as a condition of the trade. Francis returns to Houston in a much different role. The top option during his five-year stint with the club, he will be no more than the third option behind McGrady and Yao Ming. Francis spoke with both players as well as new Rockets coach Rick Adelman before deciding to accept Houston's offer.
I wonder what would it be like to see Francis and T-mac running the backcourt? o, and I forgot about Mike James..
Hey,I agree with DaDa most of the time. And I just said that he has "a little bit of Tiny" in him. Brooks has bigtime scoring ability to go with pretty good court vision, and a truckload of talent on the hardwood with him.Aaron possesses great handles, incredible speed, and a shot that is top notch. Also the better the comp the more he stands out. I would also go so far to say that he will have a better career than Stevie. Yes,there is much exuberance these days but I believe it to be warranted. OMT......In addition to everything else Morey picked this guy and I got to see him quite a bit while up in Tahoe these last few years. Be very afraid...Dallas,SA,Phoenix,etc.
I remember the Rockets' defense were incredible back when they have Steve and Mobley and under JVG. They hardly give up open look and every shot always challenge. And then watching for the last few years, they don't have any of that! They give up wayyy too many open shots. I think with Steve being the PG would have the backcourt defense...better than Rafer. I mean Rafer got killed in the Playoffs by Daren Williams...constantly getting killed and scored on...i hate to see that.
Welcome home SF3!!!!! I can officially return to the fold as a complete Rox fan!!! Now just to bring Rudy and Dream back to the organization and I can forgive the past few seasons.
If Francis and McGrady can coexist on the floor . .. our starting five will be Francis, McGrady, Battier, Scola, and Yao, with a second string of James, Alston/Head, Bonzi, Hayes, and Deke. I think this makes our starting 5 must stronger if Francis and McGrady both start and work together, but our second string players lack some offensive punch. Hmm, maybe there is still room for improvement . . . MOREY FTW!
I love the versatilty of the team now. They can go big, small, 1/2 court, & get out and run the break. I'm so giddy! Hope SF can stay healthy for the season.
Lol, 22 pages and it's the middle of the afternoon. Don't any of you people work?! Welcome back Steve!!! With James, Wells, Head, Brooks, and now Francis we have a ton of guys who can fill it up. Lots of options and a boost from the bench!
i dont see this working well. theres just too many style clashes. any takers on how long before t-mac and mike james want to kill francis?
The bus leaving for TJ Maxx departs in 13 minutes to go scoop up the Francis jerseys that have been sitting on the clearance rack for 3 years.
Wow, I didn't know this would happen. Someone called it earlier, but many people labeled him a liar. I forgot who you were, but great job in calling this!
