With the help on China, it may be the Houston starting five vs. Eastern conference all-stars...

    Cant believe this happened.

Or maybe we're the 1997 Marlins. Bonzi and Steve are in for a year, and we may have to deal away our younger guys to pay for it all in money and roster space. Enjoy the season!

ESPN: Francis for 6 Million/2 Years

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2942354

Free agent guard Steve Francis is on his way to becoming a Houston Rocket again.

The Rockets have planned a news conference Friday to announce that Francis has agreed to a contract worth about $6 million, with a player option for the second year.

Francis, a three-time All-Star with the Rockets from 1999-2004, received a $31 million buyout from Portland last week after being traded to the Trail Blazers from the New York Knicks.

    I LOVE MOREY :D

man if tracy can pass to chuck hayes, he'll pass to anybody. i think steve knows who's the best player on this team is and he'll do his job.

it's all about knowing your role. his role on this team is VERY specific.

Don't forget Scola, our newest import from Argentina. That guy can be pretty nutty too.

Francis has great talent, but if he plays like he did the first time here, it will work out very poorly. If he wants to help this team succeed, he'll have to hog the ball less, dribble it less, turn it over less, and distribute it more. He showed last year that he can serve as a spot-up shooter, hopefully he can keep doing that this year while still driving to the rim.

I was totally against this, but man I wish SF3 and the Rockets the best. Man, Adelman will have to be a genius to handle all these egos and guys that require the ball: James, Francis, T-mac, Bonzi, Yao (not ego, but needs the ball). Look for slow start with all these new faces, new coach, and new system, but we sure got potentially a lot better this off-season. Now let's bundle our extras for future picks and short-term contracts. Can't wait to watch what happens.

This will have a major impact on players like Brooks, Novak, & Harris.....

Because you will want to keep younger style of players that could replace those that can leave.

Brooks and Harris are poor men's Francis and Bonzi....

    Gonna be fun.

If Francis really meshes with T-Mac, I can see Francis really taking over in clutch situations. Just like when we faced the 04 Lakers in the playoffs. Francis has the guts and mentality to step up his game and do what it takes.

T-Mac talked a lot of smack last playoffs, but couldn't back it up. I think Francis can bring him up to that next level of intensity, just as long as he remembers that 'whatever it takes' includes penetrating and dishing to T-Mac for a open 3.
