We beat the STEELERS with DEFENSE. i understand why some people are confused. that statement is just very difficult to comprehend.
Play. Singular. You're really going to ignore 112 other passes and to pick a lone bad pass as an example of something to worry about? In a game in which he lost his top receiver, no less? He's been without Foster and/or Johnson for very nearly ever Q this year. I think they've both been on the field for, what? 3? Out of 16.
no, i'm not ignoring the other passes, that's why i said he's done it several situations this year, do you even read people's posts? him throwing that ball in the ground has nothing to do with who was in the backfield. quit trying to move the goal posts (pun not intended)
Congrats to ya'll. Very impressive and well deserved win for the Texans. You guys (along with Baltimore) are quickly helping Pittsburgh realize the age thing is, indeed, a reality and that retooling is essential from this point forward. Never before have I seen a Steelers team that looked this inept in the trenches (on both sides of the ball). Shaky o-line play is expected due to Roethlisberger's unconventional style of play along with injuries, but more importantly the Steelers' front three in their 3-4 simply aren't getting the job done. Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton, Brett Keisel all look old and ineffective. Luckily, they have two recent first round picks waiting in the wings. Time to pass the torches. I mean, no disrespect to Arian Foster but even a Reggie Bush type could have went for 100+ yards with the way Houston's offensive line was manhandling the Steelers upfront. And the scary part is this seems to be a pattern this season rather than just an anomaly. Teams are running on the Steelers now. Not quite sure how to process this. This would be like the Rockets going an entire season without any serious injuries -- it's that unheard of. Plus, to be honest: the Steelers have other holes too -- mainly a legit cover corner to play across the field from Ike Taylor. Of course, with the way the Texans were running the ball you didn't really get to see anybody in Pittsburgh's secondary get exposed. So yeah, I still love my black & gold and there's a LOT of football left to play. But losses like this and against Baltimore are definitely humbling and keep you hungry to get better. Luckily, this is an experienced, resilient bunch that knows how to handle adversity so I have no doubt they'll turn things around. I'm just curious how quickly they stop the bleeding and/or cover up their glaring holes that I mentioned earlier. But once again, congrats to you guys. Very impressed and good luck moving forward. Maybe we'll meet again.
Our GM's will perhaps meet each other draft night... Other than that, I cant really say we'll be seeing yall again"
Other than the 2 penalties that took away touchdowns, I don't feel like the offense left a lot of points on the board. Maybe I'm wrong. It wasn't anything like the New Orleans game where I was thinking that we should have had another 14 points or so.
He had a remarkably bad 4Q against the Saints. Otherwise, Matt Schaub has been perfectly fine. He made a bad pass. Do you know who else makes bad passes? Everyone.
The dude just said compared Bush to Foster..... How the hell is that respectful??.... First u b**** about a win , now you taking up for "read-between the lines" victory post... Im confused about u bro
yes, if you discount that whole quarter, if you discount the almost intercepted touchdown to andre johnson. if you ignore to intros to indy yes, yes, yes, if you ignore all that, then you are being negative ---->
What is this "almost" BS? Specifically, "almost" that resulted in a TD? He's on pace for 3,844 yds; 28 TDs; 65.6 completion %; 8.5 YPP; 101.9 QBR and a 12-4 record. And you want him to "elevate" his game because he made bad pass? You don't think you're maybe searching for a needle in a haystack here?
I mentioned it; btw. Hard to discount something *I* brought up. Did you happen to notice, btw, his first 3Qs in that paticular game? Talk about discounting....
no i'm not. i particularly referred to crucial situations, like the fourth quarter in new orleans. like the pass to owen, there was no excuse for that. and now with his best receiver gone he is going to have to be better. no one's arguing about his numbers. i'm not going to go play for play with you because i don't watch these games over and over like you and are able to come up with some play from the seventh game three years ago. i know when the game is on the line he has been shaky this season. it worked out yesterday, it didn't the previous sunday. the other two games were cake walks so they are irrelevant.
do you discount the LOSS? look, i'm on board saying that game is on the D so i don't want to be a hypocrite, but since you brought it up, well he didn't play particularly well in the fourth
He said Bush could have gotten 100 yards...because our OLine was opening up such massive holes...its not a knock on Foster, its praise for our OLine against their DLine. And Im not b****ing about anything...I celebrated yesterday more than most people on this board. Im just not one that thinks everything is great.
You're right, it was Allen. Spoiler I thought it was Manning, but once again....I had crying babies to deal with... And running. I heard the steelers hadn't been run on that much in something like a decade? Thanks for that post. Always cool to get perspective from the other team. Repped. Ignore the idiots...
