I want to see what Jacked up Dubon can do. Dubon, Hensley and back C positions will be fun to watch in spring training. Same w the fight for the 6th and 7th SP pole position.
I know it won’t happen, but it would be hilarious if Whitley all of a sudden figured it out, got his head together, and became this year’s Jeremy Peña. As much as I would enjoy that on the field development as a fan, I would enjoy the meltdown from NYY fans even more.
Why do you say that? They’ve done this in the minors for years with no issues. I think I read somewhere where 85% of the league will have played under a pitch clock somewhere in pro baseball.
Yeah- I know there’s a lot of people worried about these changes but I think 3 months in the overwhelming consensus will be “what a great idea”. Baseball played in 2.5 hours is the perfect game. Baseball that takes 3 hours to play 9 innings is ok, but not as good as 2.5. Baseball that takes 4 hours to play is interminable (as a general rule- unless you are talking about a bonkers 11-10 type game 5 game- but not 7-4 in July). I miss balls smoked up the middle being hits and I miss guys trying to steal bases. This is going to fix 80% of baseballs problems and the rest will get fixed with robot umps- when they can make it as fast and reliable as the line calls in tennis.
If Whitley and a brown are both aces that basically makes the Astros WS contenders through 2029. if they both hit as aces I think Jeff Luhnow should go down as the greatest GM of all time- if 8 years running a team can create a 20 year dynasty that lives 10 years beyond him in dummy proof fashion. I think he should already be considered too 10 GM of all time with the fact that he’s probably at the bottom of that list only due to the fact he only had 8 or 9 years in the position.
Do they keep statistics on the average time it took a pitcher to deliver to the plate? Interested to know what that number was in 2022.
Yeah, his inning has been the highlight of the day so far. Paredes with a strong inning just now, too. Hopefully that's a good sign for him moving forward.
