Yup. He's gonna be that guy that goes 6, maybe 7 and calls it a night. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a sub 3 ERA.
If Morton has to start in an NL ballpark, I hope he just stands in the box with the bat on his shoulder. Can't have him getting hurt on the bases again.
I like how the team have been playing and seem to be gearing up on the right foot as we are getting closer to opening day. Our pitching and hitting is looking solid. I just hope we start the season better compare to last year. We missed playoffs due to the slow start last season.
If Charlie Morton is providing 6+ innings of sub-3 ERA every fifth day, we'd have a (better than) Quintana type of ace.
There was one pitcher that had a sub 3 ERA with over 100 innings pitched in the AL. Not enough to qualify, but that's still a lot of sub 3 ERA innings in the AL.
Sipp looks done. K, 2B, BB vs. lefty, righty, lefty, respectively. Cut your ties and move on. Dude just doesn't have it anymore. Sad but true. Continuing to pitch him = definition of insanity.
ride Charlie's arm til it goes and then call up Martes or patchwork Paulino/Devo/Fiers. I'm hopeful for Charlie but they need just need to get something out of him; they shouldn't be protecting his arm for anything.
This. I don't expect Morton to be on playoff roster, but could be an important part of getting there if he can last half a season.
I agree with your overall premise but he was good today. Just got unlucky with two really, really good ABs.
We win again 7-3 over the fish...Keuchel did not have a great outing...4.2 innings 3runs and 4k. McCann HR # 3 in the spring. I like McCann alot and while Beltran they will provide the leadership we need to get us back into the playoffs!!!
Anyone else notice Kyle Tucker looking pretty swole compared to when he was drafted? I think this year he puts up 15-20 home runs.
