I may have misunderstood this but I thought we have about 1 million more in room under the second penalty in luxury tax. The next guy we sign will cost a lot in taxes and penalties. Maybe Crane is OK with that, maybe not but you do not spend that on a bench player.
Sure. My bet is blanco and Bielak could each easily pitch 80 or 120 averageish low leverage innings and you’d be just fine. Snell could turn over a 7-2 lead after 5 and they could go 3 or 4.
I agree with this and am sort of making a similar argument telling people to chill about the bullpen, and this is a way to do it. a other way to do it though is to give Loperfido one start at 1B, 1 at 2B and 2 in LF every week against RHP (moving Chas over to CF to sit Jake), and keep everyone fresh and sharp. That would work too if you feel like I do that we are good enough to give lots of guys days off regularly.
I know it’s “just spring training” but it would be nice to start fighting for wins. The mental buildup to a season is just as important as the physical preparation.
I feel the same. I know ST games don't dictate a hell of a lot but maybe try winning a ******* game every once in a while?
We are not Los Angeles fans that celebrate an in-season tournament or a Mickey Mouse championship... LA fans would totally celebrate a Cactus League Championship.
