I frankly see worst case scenario for NY will occur - ie. massively overpaying for Boozer (Amare if lucky) and Gay, grabbing a few roleplayers, and at best case, being a perennial 6th-8th seed and stuck in purgatory with no way out. I simply cannot see Lebron or Wade coming to a team whose entire assets consist of cap space of Gallinari, and given that they, you know, actually need to make a team, they realistically don't have room for 2 max agenets.

Lebron will stay in Cleveland, Wade might (and I repeat, might) head to Chicago, but I would bet on him staying and Miami picking up a decent PF at last, possibly Amare. Bosh will also stay, I think.

    Huh?
Detroit's payroll is 51 million without signing anyone, and they have zero major expirings. Meanwhile, Boston's payroll is 63 million. How are they supposed to get anyone?

    Brah,

    Get with the times.

"Official" speculation refers to a single thread where you can post your thoughts or rumors on who is going where until FA actually starts.

Josh123: Miami has a lot of benefits, but no basketball culture and a lackadaisical fanbase. IMO, it's not comparable to NY.

This will be the last contract they sign under the current CBA. The next CBA is looking like it will have a reduced max salary. So the incentive is to sign for as long as deal as you can under this one rather than risk unfavorable changes to the CBA.

Of course that new CBA is still being negotiated, but there's definitely a risk that you'll get substantially less salary for contracts signed under that one.
