Basically, same scenario I needed for the win. I lost by .1, Hicks went nuts, Austin was no factor until that garbage late 17 yard catch and the Giant "D" was very given with those two late TDs.
Yup. Story of my season. I figured the Giants D would be a no show so I tried to swing for the fences late by dropping them and starting Denver (on Sunday afternoon). I'm sure you know how that turned out. None of it mattered anyway. I had Romo, and my opponent had AP and Bradshaw so I never stood a chance.
The Law Firm (BenJarvus Green-Ellis) or Deion Branch this week against Minnesota? I'm torn. Fortunately, that's the only tough decision unless my waiver claims don't process.
OK, Romo was my starting QB and appears to be gone for the season now as a broken clavicle usually takes 8-10 weeks to heal. The best quarterbacks on waivers are Palmer, Fitzpatrick and McNabb. Which one should I try to get?
I'm grabbing Fitzpatrick myself to replace Kolb. You should, too. Though Kitna is intriguing given the weapons that are at his disposal.
No way Fitzpatrick keeps this up, but he has to be the pick. Somebody scooped him up in my league before Romo got hurt.
People have been doubting Fitzpatrick for 4 weeks in a row. He's played more than solid in his previous 3 games before shredding a Ravens team with Ed Reed back for 350+ and 4 td's means he just might be the real deal. Of course teams have film on him now and they're gonna study him more closely but he's got the smarts, intangibles, accuracy and composure to keep it up. His chemistry with Steve Johnson is really good and Lee Evans is Fantasy releant again cause of Fitzpatrick. With defenses zoning in on the pass I think this also opens up some running lanes for CJ Spiller as well.
I wish, but Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller are both splitting the carries making neither of them terribly good for fantasy. Jackson is getting the bulk still.
I just find it hard to believe that a player in his 6th year is going to all of a sudden become a star. Prior to this season he was a 58% passer with 21 TDs to 27 INTs and a passer rating below 70. Like I said you have to take him if you are without a QB and he's available because he has had 4 consecutive stellar weeks, but you have to realize he is unlikely to keep it up. If he does you've hit the Kurt Warner type lottery.
Jackson ALWAYS finds a way to get 6-7 fantasy points. He is the perfect bye week filler. He will rarely give you a goose egg. Dude has the ability to run, catch, and return kicks... the Bills use him.
He did play for some woeful Rams teams, then a 4-11 Bengals team, and the Bills. It's not like he's ever had a truly functional offense with protection, a running game, and competent receivers to go with a competent play-caller (Chan Gailey), so he's probably better than his career numbers indicate. That being said, I think Sunday has to be an absolute anomaly. Maybe the Ravens just took them lightly going in. The Bills offense might be decent, but not 300 yds/4 TD good.
So apparently I'm the Daryl Morey of my league with a deep roster, but everyone who was hot last week was on my bench. Help me with my starting lineup for week 8. QB WR RB RB TE - Shiancoe Flex 1 (only one flex can be a RB, not both) Flex 2 Roster Phillip Rivers Ryan Fitzpatrick Greg Jennings Frank Gore Darren McFadden Thomas Jones Mike Wallace Marshawn Lynch Brandon Jackson Steve Johnson Pierre Garcon Visanthe Shiancoe Tony Gonzalez - Week 8 Bye
His one season he played with the Rams he had Torry Holt/Issac Bruce/Marshall Faulk(An old one though)/Steven Jackson. Bulger was still putting up big numbers for those Rams teams. Of course he was a 3rd string rookie QB, so its hard to fault him for struggling there. In Cincy he had Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Last year he was with this same Bills team, and his numbers benefited from beating up on the Colts backups during the last week of the season. Maybe the emergence of Steve Johnson and the new offensive system have made a difference from last year. His biggest benefit is that you know the Bills are going to throw because their defense can't stop anybody.
People can rag on Fitzpatrick all they want, but he has put up QB1 type numbers for four weeks in a row now. He is a perfect bye week filler, even a starter, until he proves otherwise.
