I don't think its MJD that has had the "dreadful" season we've seen so far. Everytime we see them play they are already down by 14-20 points and by that time MJD is out of the mix and the Jags become pass happy to get back in it. His offensive line hasn't helped him out much from what I saw last night, he's been running tough but it seems like he HAS to give it his all every single play just to get a 5-6 yard gain. His wrist injury probably hasn't helped but I would put the blame on the entire offense before I lay it on MJD.
Moreno is a big time sleeper. The offense is pass happy because the only viable back there is Maroney and he is useless. Once he gets healthy he should easily command 20 carries per game with his abilities. And as for Brown, I'll put it this way -- he's in a timeshare and he has still been a much better option than MJD this season so far. The Jaguars are just a useless team -- they can't pass protect, and they get behind so quickly in games that MJD quickly becomes a nonfactor. Their O-line can't even block well enough for him to produce at an elite level when he does carry, and now he's losing touches to Deji Karim. I'm taking that trade any day of the week and twice on Sundays. A healthy Moreno alone is still much better than what MJD is now.
Yeah, I understand it isn't MJD's fault. I'm just saying, as a fantasy producer, he is a bust. It's not his fault, but it is what it is. I could have started Green Ellis, Marshawn Lynch or Felix Jones and won. But I had to go with my "stud".
I proposed a trade and the other party accepted. I feel like I'm getting a really good deal. Guess which one I am. Team A) Chad Ochocinco Aaron Hernandez Reggie Wayne Knowshon Moreno Team B) Randy Moss Jordan Shipley Ryan Mathews Jason Witten Spoiler I'm getting the players from team B. I'm cutting Shipley cause I have no need for him. My other 3 RB's are AP, Jamaal Charles and CJ Spiller. I haven't used Moreno all season as he's been injured or better matchups for AP/Charles. I think I might be getting the 3 best players in the trade with the exception of Reggie Wayne so maybe just 2 best but I'm pretty excited I think it was a good deal for both teams though. Thoughts??
I agree that Cassel sucks. It doesn't help that I'm a Titans fan and don't like having a rooting interest in their opponent. I'm sure whoever I end up using, they will be the only one of the bunch that doesn't score a TD. I should add that my league there are no negative points for interceptions/fumbles and you only get a point for every 50 yards passing, so TDs are at a premium.
And with Moss gone Hernandez becomes an even bigger option in that already pass happy offense and may be an even better option than Daniels who doesn't look like the star fantasy option he once did. It looks like you lose in that trade. Sorry.
At this point Wayne is easily the best player in the deal, a guy you can count on every week to be pretty huge. Moss at his best this season will probably only equal what Wayne does, and he might not be as consistent. Therefore: Wayne is much better than Moss (in fantasy) Matthews slightly better than Moreno (once healthy) Witten > Hernandez Ocho > Shipley He got the best player easily, and you might have upgraded somewhat at RB and TE ... but sold Ocho Cinco while his stock was very low to do so.
I wanted to keep Hernandez but I think Daniels is coming back to form finally. The Patriots pass happy offense is too unpredictable with Branch/Tate/Welker/Edelman/Woodhead/Gronk/Hernandez... That's a lot of players to feed the ball to. I think Welker is the #1 but after that it's a crapshoot. I think Witten and Daniels are a solid 2 and 3 respectively on their depth chart in terms of receivers. Basically I had a lot of depth at WR/TE so I don't mind losing Hernandez/Ocho Cinco (down year?) especially when I get Moss back in return who's a true #1 unlike Wayne who's had to share a lot of balls recently with the emergence of Collie and Garcon etc. I also wanted to roll the dice and see if Mathews can start to put up some numbers. If he does great. If not.... once again no worries cause he's going to be on the bench anyways. I just think he has better upside than Moreno who's been rotting on my bench. I still think I made out well in the trade and I'm excited to see how it turns out.
The Colts are going to throw more than the Vikings, and it's never been a problem getting Wayne the ball despite other talented receivers. He usually gets his 6/75 minimum a game, and will have the big weeks with touchdowns. I've got Moss on one team so I'm hoping he'll catch fire, but I'd take Wayne over him right now easily. I don't think that trade will kill you or put you over the top though.
Very fair assessment. With that said I think we've got some big weeks to look forward to with Moss though. In the next 5 weeks he plays the Packers twice and NE once as well. I have a slight feeling Favre is going to want to put up some TD's against the Packers and Moss will be the recipient of those passes. and you KNOW Moss is going to tear up the Patriots.
Alright Folks, need some input here- 10 team, PPR, Start 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 W/R Working on negotiating a deal with a buddy who is stacked at WR while i'm stacked at RB- Shouldn't be too hard to find a 1 for 1 match up My RBs: Spoiler Stephen Jackson MJD Ahmad Bradshaw Ryan Matthews His WRs: Spoiler Brandon Lloyd Hakeem Nicks Brandon Marshall Andre Johnson Malcolm Floyd He has offered me Brandon Marshall for Stephen Jackson, which i believe he gets a bit of an edge on, but because of my RB depth i'm almost comfortable with that. (My WRs being Colston, Giant's Steve Smith, Jeremy Maclin, Jabar Gaffney). What do you guys think? Where do you guys feel the most equal trade sits (this guy is no dummy)?
Your best RB's in order in terms of production thus far and production for points in the future: 1) MJD 2) Steven Jackson 3) Mathews 4) Bradshaw His best WR's in terms of production thus far and production for points in the future: 1) Andre Johnson 2) Hakeem Nicks 3) Marshall 4) Floyd 5) Lloyd I think Hakeem Nicks and Brandon Marshall is a wash basically so you can trade them places depending upon preference. I also think Lloyd and Floyd is almost a tossup but I'd go with Floyd. I would try and see if he gives you Andre Johnson for S. Jackson. A number 1 WR for a number 1 RB. Eye for an eye. If not than I'd offer MJD for Andre Johnson and see if he does that. Worse case scenario the Jackson for Marshall or Nicks trade wouldn't be bad either.
Ok, why is everyone dropping Kevin Kolb? Am I out of the loop and Mike Vick is returning or are people just dumb for giving up a starting QB to the waiver wire? Matt Ryan is my starting QB and I have Mark Sanchez on a bye. I'm trying to pick Kolb up cause we can start 2 QBs in my league.
I have so many lineup questions this week, basically my whole lineup. My apologies for so many questions. If you make it through the entire thing and respond with advice, rep points. I'm pretty much set at starting Roethlisberg over Cultler. I actually like Cutler's matchup better, but he basically plays without an O line. Anyone want to talk me out of it? I have more questions at my 2 RB spots. I'm leaning towards starting MJD and Forte, but not 100% convinced. Trent Edwards seemed to move the ball well against Tennessee, so maybe he'll be able to at least keep the defenses slightly honest and help MJD's production. Forte can break one running or receiving, but it's hard to do either when your QB never hands off the ball or able to set up to pass. My two other options are Hillis and McCoy. Hillis has been nursing an injury, but he is basically the only weapon Cleveland has left. That could be good or bad, as the Saints can just focus on stopping the run. McCoy has also been nursing an injury and on top that will be facing the Titans, who just stopped MJD this past Monday. Of course McCoy has the advantage of having an actual offense playing with him. Thoughts? WR corps decimated by bye week. I currently have Fitzgerald, Crabtree, and Murphy active. Are Crayton or Knox better options? And finally, I need a D/ST. I currently have the Giants(@DAL), but I like the Saints(CLE) and 49ers(@CAR) matchup.
I'd go with Cutler at home against the Redskins instead of Roethlisberger against Miami. Miami has a very tough pass defense and I could see the Steelers and Dolphins in a defensive battle with Mendenhall getting 30+ Carries. Furthermore, the Dolphins held Rodgers to just 1 passing TD this past weekend and picked him off while allowing him to only complete 54.5% of his passes. Cutler is high risk high reward. This is a weekend where you almost have to take the risk. I go by the logic of never benching your starters. Especially when the other matchups aren't that favorable. That means you start MJD no matter what. Who cares if it's Edwards or Garrard. They both equally suck. I might start Hillis over Forte but McCoy is definitely out of the question for this weekend with him not 100% and facing the Titans D. Fitzgerald and Crabtree play for sure. Murphy/Crayton/Knox is anybody's guess but In my opinion I'd roll the dice with Crayton here. Why? Maclom Floyd is probably going to miss this weeks game and Gates is not 100% that's the Chargers 2 best receivers right there and Crayton is coming off his best game this year. As for the defense I'd go with Saints against Cleveland. Whoever Cleveland decides to play at QB is going to throw a couple picks and they're gonna struggle to score TD's. I think the odds of the Saints D scoring a TD are greater than Cleveland's offense as well.
