I'd go with Garcon since you already have one NE receiver. I've found it to be very risky to start two receivers on the same team...unless they are a part of a high flying aerial attack. I think Brady will definitely pass the ball around to where only Welker will be a week to week must start. You can potentially start Austin, Welker/Floyd and Ward from here on out since all except Floyd have had their bye.
Yeah, I thought about it some more and grabbed Garcon. In fact, I might start him over Floyd who may end up spending some quality time with Mr. Asomugha.
Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Vick sits out through the bye. Kolb will really bit hit or miss, I think the pressure on him to perform well is sky high. You know what you will get with McNabb. I'm not sure what Yoyo's record is, but the next 3-4 weeks are crucial when it comes to having a shot at the playoffs.
right now 2-2 won last week despite vick's injury by less than a point (the other guy had cutler) but lost my first two weeks as well thanks to unusually huge games by monday night performers so i am probably where i should be, probably should be 3-1....opponent this week has andre johnson and collie so if both are hampered by their injuries i may be able to get through and next week going up against an 0-4 (could be 1-4/0-5) team
So Cutler is out for week 5 and Roethlisberg is on a bye week so who should I pick up? Sanchez vs MIN (most consistent of the QBs but worst matchup) Garrard @ BUF (Jekyll or Hyde QB) Hill vs STL (Gets to play toss with Megatron) Bradford @ DET (Gets to play toss against DET) Fitzpatrick vs JAC (Buffalo can't run, must pass) Kolb @ SF (might be without McCoy, will have to pass to Jackson and Maclin) Help!!!
Here goes one: Receive Favre for Welker Already have Brady at QB and Boldin, Andre, and Calvin at receiver.
Fitzpatrick would be the last option, the guy is terrible. He will more than likely throw for his usual 100-150 yards
Ya. What good is a backup QB gonna do you? Unless you're worried losing Moss is going to hurt Brady. Or help Favre. Either way, you only need one.
Absolutely not. If you're interested, ask for one of his starting RBs instead. A player who's going to sit on the bench the rest of the season is of no value to you.
Lowest risk is Sanchez in my view. I don't like Hill against a pretty good Rams defense (they're good enough that they are actually worth starting every week), and Bradford despite being mature beyond his years is still a rookie and still prone to mistakes. Fitzpatrick is crap, Garrard is a disaster waiting to happen and Kolb is a bad play against a 49ers defense that plays very well at home. Sanchez looks like a tough matchup as well versus MINN but he has been very consistent since week 2, not turning the ball over and this week he gets a new weapon in Santonio Holmes. Not saying he's guaranteed to get the best fantasy line this week, but he's by far the safest option.
Play Bradford. Even though he doesn't put up big numbers yet he does give you positive points by limiting his mistakes and avoiding turnovers. Detroit's pass defense is ranked 19th which isn't atroucious yet not to be feared, especially with Sammy limiting the mistakes he makes.
One more. Aaron Hernandez and John Carlson are both on byes and I'm debating on who to pick up off FA as my starter this week. Brandon Pettigrew vs St. Louis Mercedes Lewis vs Buffalo I already have Pettigrew in my lineup but don't like the matchup against St. Louis' much improved D. Lewis has been money with the TDs this season but unless he gets a TD or two this game he could be very hit or miss. Buffalo's pass D is ranked 32nd.... Thoughts?
d00dz... i know this might sound crazy, but should i start mark clayton @ detroit over desean jackson @ SF? jackson could either get me 20 points or 2... while clayton seems to put up a solid 7-8 points every week.
Also, Fred Jackson vs. Jacksonville, Thomas Jones @ Indy, or Ryan Mathews/Mike Tolbert @ Oakland (I have them both)?
I ended up offering Batum and Hickson for Brand, and the trade went through. I really like Brand as a rebounder/shotblocker this year with Dalembert gone. Hawes and Speights blow, and Doug Collins is a good coach, not to mention this will be the year he might completely recover from knee surgery. What do you think? I picked up Travis Outlaw to replace Batum, who is getting outplayed by that Wesley Matthews guy... Good trade?
