So here goes a question of my own ... My RB situation hasn't been great this year since I chose to go for WR depth in my draft strategy and pinned my RB hopes on MJD (1RB, 2WR, 1Flex). Portis and Cadillac Williams have both stunk up the joint, forcing me to turn to the waiver wire for options. I just replaced Cadillac with the Law Firm (BJGE) and dropped the other dud, Michael Bush for Marshawn Lynch who is obviously now the man at Buffalo. So this week I face a bit of a quandary. MJD is an obvious start, and I have Floyd and Welker at WR (M. Austin on bye week). I need to choose one of the following for a flex starter: - Hines Ward vs. BAL - The Law Firm @ MIA - Marshawn Lynch vs. NYJ Obviously nothing really great there. I'm leaning towards either Ward (he has been remarkably consistent despite not finding pay dirt) or BJGE.
McCoy. Washington's run defense is mediocre, Houston's is pretty good. McFadden may come down to earth a little bit this week. Plus M. Vick's mobility has really been great at opening running lanes for McCoy in the first three weeks.
I'm thinking of sitting Schaub for McNabb, on the assumption that Houston will run the ball all over Oakland and McNabb will be really motivated against Philly. Good idea or no?
Depends who your other options are, but sitting AJ this week might be a smart idea. Wait until gametime to decide, of course.
On the AJ front, I just picked up Kevin Walter in my league. He was available, and I needed to drop Pierre Garcon. If AJ's out for sure, I'm going to start KW over Crabtree. (This isn't asking for advice, just a suggestion for whoever is looking for a promising short-term pick-up.)
AJ says he is planning to start on Sunday, but official word from Texans is he is day-to-day/game time decision. Knowing AJ, I expect him to start, but I'd pay attention at noon on Sunday if I were you. Regardless, I think Walter is a good play for Sunday since AJ's going to be fighting to get off Asomugha Island all day with that bum ankle. The offense will probably be more run-oriented though.
Brandon Jackson vs Detroit or Clinton Portis vs Philly I have absolutely nothing left at RB and have been scrambling to get a servicable back till AP gets back from his bye. My other starter is Tolbert and that's only if Mathews stays out.
Who should I keep in a Fantasy Baseball league. I keep 7 players. My keepers so far are Mauer, Miguel Cabrera, Cano, A-Rod, Jose Reyes, Ubaldo.. For my final slot who should I keep out of Werth, Adam Jones, Mike Stanton, Andrew Bailey, Matt Wieters? I'm thinking Adam Jones, he's a young 5-tool guy who really has the potential to put up Carlos Gonzales type numbers. This year is probably his floor. I figure with a good coach and a good attitude he could be a fantasy superstar. Werth is obviously proven, and not a bad choice. Stanton has the most raw power out of any of them, but he's been so streaky. Andrew Bailey would give me a good young closer, but I think that position is overrated in fantasy baseball since there's always a few chances to grab a closer in the FA pool throughout the season. Help me out guys
my other receivers are Anquan Boldin, Louis Murphy, Jacoby Jones, Jabar Gaffney, Mario Manningham, and Brandon Lloyd. I start 2 receivers and have 1 flex spot, but all my RBs that are not starting are on Bye week. So I have Boldin and Murphy in now, I need one more. (this post is referring to me benching Andre Johnson this week) McCoy, Houston's run defense is top 5 in the league I did the same thing, I got Arian Foster and loaded up on receiver depth. I then had crap at my RB position (Brandon Jacobs and Marion Barber) So I ended up trading the WR depth for Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis hmmm, I have the exact same QBs as you I just traded Kevin Walter, but I do have Jacoby
Yeah I wish I had a better option at RB but Tolbert is my main man this week. I dropped Portis for Ryan Torain, only because I received an update thru this fantasy football news app stating that Portis was going to start slipping into the 3rd down back role. Hopefully it pans out that way, I really like Torain in that offense.
@rhino I think your safest bet is to start Jacoby. Unless you can accurately predict which Bronco will have the big game this week.
You need to hit the waiver wire and try to grab one of the following: - Ryan Torain - Marshawn Lynch - Justin Forsett (if he's available) - Ben Kuhn From my assessment of watching the two share carries on Monday, I feel Kuhn is going to be getting the lions share of rushes in GB with Jackson being used mostly as a 3rd down back/pass catcher out of the backfield. CJ Spiller sucks so Lynch is now the de facto starting back in Buffalo. Forsett also looks like he's going to be getting the biggest role in Seattle. And even if Portis ends up still getting more touches this week, I think Torain is the right investment there moving forward. I don't like any of those guys you have on your roster. Forget about Tolbert, he's one and done. Mathews is practicing fully and will be back on Sunday.
I need to drop someone from my roster because I need to pick up WR. I was hoping to trade a RB but apparently the rest of my league is either set at RB or quit playing because they suck. I'm hesitant to drop one of my RBs because I'd hate for someone else to get them for free so I'm torn between who to drop. Brandon Jackson-kind of want to wait until after game vs the Lions to see; is really my 5th best back, but benefits that his bye week doesn't conflict with others Peyton Hillis-has been consistent especially considering he has only started 1 game, but his bye week falls on the same week as 2 of my top 3 RB Bengals or Saints-was hoping to carry both defenses until Bengals bye week; both have favorable match-ups in the coming weeks. Mark Sanchez-will only see action on Jay Culter's bye week, should I just drop him and worry about a stop gap QB when the time comes? Thoughts and input is appreciated.
Cut Sanchez, he is not any more productive than the rest of the lower tier QBs. I'm sure you could pick someone up during Cutler's bye week who is just as good, you can probably even pick Sanchez back up
