Okay guys..need some help...playoff week and I am kind of stuck. Want some opinions. My league doesn't have negative points for INT's etc, we don't have a TE but a TE can be used as a flex or WR. Our Flex position can be any offensive player, QB etc.....so let me know your thoughts on what my Starting lineup should be.
I was told a common rule in FF was to think twice about playing your stars in bad weather. Damn you Ben, negative points in the playoffs!
Alright gents, here's a quick question for yall on defenses. I'm stuck between starting the Jets or the Titans defense this weekend. The Titans are at home against St. Louis, and the Jets are at Tampa Bay. Both of those offenses are terrible. Any ideas on who to start?
I need serious advice, please help! Alright I'm in the semi finals of playoffs in a 2 week match up. I'm down by 9.5 points in the first week. Unfortunately, Mendenhall already went and only posted 6.5 pts, so now I'm down by 3 pts with one man already gone. I have QB Matt Hasselbeck/Matt Cassel/Vince Young RB Adrian Peterson/Jamaal Charles RB Mendenhall (6.5 pts) RB/WR Reggie Wayne/Marshawn Lynch/MichaelCrabtree/Mike Bell/Jamaal Charles WR Greg Jennings/Braylon Edwards WR Sidney Rice TE Dallas Clark DEF Saints K David Akers He has QB Aaron Rodgers/Joe Flacco RB Chris Johnson RB Frank Gore/Jason Snelling/Julius Jones RB/WR Cedric Benson WR Donald Driver WR Robert Meachem/Roy Williams/Mike Sims-walker TE Antonio Gates/Vernon Davis DEF Redskins K Lawrence Tynes What line up do I start??? I'm mostly worried about the RB/WR and WR positions. Also I don't know who to start at QB as both Hasselbeck and Cassel has been crappy for me all season. I just picked up VY but not sure how he will do this week. Thanks, any advice would get appreciated!
Either one would be good. The Jets have a great CB that will shut down Avery. That will leave no one for Bulger to really throw to. So at that point you know it's back down to only Jackson. I have picked up bye week replacements based on teams that are playing STL so that is a sure bet in some ways. I picked up Seattle that week recently against them. Tennessee has a good match up too so you can't really go wrong there either. Freeman is a gun slinger right now and will most likely throw some picks. The Offense for Tennessee is going to be on the field a lot in my opinion in this game and Chris Johnson will run all over them. It's a toss up but I just favor teams against STL.
Here are my thoughts. A.P. is a no brainer of course. I would have liked to see you start Charles instead of Mendenhall just becuase Charles is goign against basically one of the worst run defenses in the league and will probably put up points. I can't fault you though because they were playing Cleveland and they are basically the worst overall defense in the league. Bad break on that one. On that note i would start Reggie Wayne, Sidney Rice and Greg Jennings. As far as QB's go, I don't think Cassell is going to do much passing this game since Charles will probably run over Buffalo like every other RB this season so his passing will be limited. Then between Young and Hassleback it's a toss up. I am leaning more with Hasslebeck because they don't have much of a running game and the Texans have been getting stronger against the run so they might be passing more. Young is playing TB which probably will have no chance at stopping Chris Johnson so you run into the same thing where he might not pass as much because Johnson will be raping them. Those are my thoughts...
Also with Sanchez sitting, the Jones should be getting a lot of touches. This could mean a lot less time the D is on the field, and less opportunities for takeaways.
Thanks for the breakdown. St. Louis' offense is so freaking bad, that this seems like a good pick. Add to that the fact that StL is on the road, and it's a good pick. This is the playoffs, so I need every freaking point this week. Hopefully Vince and Tenn stay on the field.
Thanks dude, didn't know that Sanchez is going to be out for sure this week. He did take a pretty nasty hit last week, so that makes sense.
Trust me I know how important these points are. Going into the past 2 weeks I had the Steelers D. I mean looking at the schedule, when you see Oakland and Cleveland during playoff weeks. Your like MONEY..but nope..they choked both weeks and didn't do jack for me. I'm in a big whole already with Pitt only giving me 8 points.
Here's my crisis scenario. One of my starting RBs (Turner) and my primary backup RB (Portis) are both out, yet I managed to squeeze into the playoffs on some Kurt Warner/Alex Smith explosions and a solid weekly play by Steven Jackson. Now I need a #2 RB for this week. My bench: Forsett vs. Hou Brown vs. Seattle Snelling vs. NO Kevin Smith vs. Baltimore I've also considered dumping Brown or Forsett for the new Redskins starter, Ganther...who is available in our FA pool. I mean, Oakland's running D is BRUTAL. Any ideas?
You don't drop Forsett. He's got too much going for him, and I think he'll only be getting more and more of the carry load in the next few weeks. Can't believe you have Chris Brown though. I guess it works because you know that no matter how bad he plays Kubiak will still give him more touches.
Last week I really needed a last second starter when Forsett sprained his quad and they made Jones the starter again.
So I lost both my starters at the RB position (Brown/Slaton). Mccoy & Stewart did ok but I'm starting Jacobs. I saw that Jacobs was available last week and he was gold for me. I don't want to start either Mccoy/Stewart. What do ya'll think of Quinton Ganther? Thx in advance!
Thanks for the help Stack. I really hope I make it to the championship round. ESPN projects my Colts players (Wayne and Clark) to struggle this week against the Broncos. But I guess I'll have to stick with my original guns in Wayne/Rice/Jennings who helped get me this far and keep my fingers crossed. Even as tempting as starting Charles in this situation. Still not sure whether to start Vince Young or Matt Hasselbeck. I have about 12 hours to figure that one out.
From CBS sportsline- I go with Matt. Johnson should run all over the Rams D, and well...the Texans seem to make every QB look like a Pro Bowler.
