Just got offered a trade in which I receive Peyton Manning and Arian Foster for Adrian Peterson and Tom Brady. I don't love it, but can't deny the value of a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick for a 1st and an 8th... thoughts?
Trade was proposed to me should I do it? thinking about rejecting: James Jones Brian Hartline For Wes Welker I give up Welker and receive Jones & Hartline
For me it would depend on who your other RB's were. I wouldn't just let go of AP and take that risk on Arian unless I had other proven RB's to pick up the slack. But also I think people are approaching Peyton this season as if he's going to put up the same numbers he did last season.....he obviously won't. But for my money, if you had other legit RB's then I'd pull the trigger. if your other RB's were like Trent Richardson or something, then no, I wouldn't do it.
Your team looks very solid. And I'd probably do all of the same moves as well; but for some reason Tom Brady doesn't play well AT Miami. Not saying I'd bench him, or that I think you should bench him, I'm just saying for some reason he's struggled there over his career.
My yahoo pro league roster is: Aaron Rodgers/Philip Rivers LeSean McCoy/Doug Martin/Frank Gore/Steven Jackson/Bernard Pierce Percy Harvin/Mike Wallace/Terrance Williams/Jeremy Maclin/Brandin Cooks Gronkowski/Martellus Bennett St Louis DST Right now, I have no kicker. Someone dropped Brandin Cooks, and I picked him up as a FA and dropped my kicker. Eventually, I'll need to add a kicker. Who should I drop? At this point, I'm leaning towards either Bernard Pierce or Martellus Bennett. Also, who would you guys start....Doug Martin vs Carolina or Gore vs Dallas? I'm leaning towards Gore.
I'd play with no kicker or drop Rivers. You're gonna play Rivers 1 time all year, is he worth a roster spot?
Yahoo pro leagues start a QB/2 RB/3 WR/TE/DST/K. If I played w/o a kicker, I'd be at a huge disadvantage. It's my personal preference to have a backup QB as insurance. The best FA QB's available are Palmer/Locker/Flacco/E.Manning/Tannehill.
I'd start Gore against the worse defense in football, and I'd definitely drop Bernard Pierce. Bernard Pierce is a good player, but he's only going to have good value for this week and next. Why keep him around? You're not going to ever start him over the other 4 guys. And I definitely wouldn't drop Rivers, last year Rodgers got hurt and anyone who had drafted him assuredly took a hit in the standings, so the last thing you wanna do is turn right back around and not draft insurance.
Thanks, that's the same reasoning I had. I'll try to trade Pierce, but if I can't do it by tomorrow, then I'll drop him on Saturday.
(22) Doug Martin vs Carolina or Bernard Pierce vs Cincinnati? (11) Doug Martin vs Carolina or Ben Tate vs Pittsburgh? (23) Golden Tate vs NYG or Kendall Wright vs Tennessee? (1) Torrey Smith vs Cincinnati or Michael Crabtree vs Dallas? (15) Michael Crabtree vs Dallas or DeSean Jackson vs Houston? (21) Golden Tate vs NYG or TY Hilton vs Denver?
Pierce is a MUCH better fit in Kubiaks system and there's already talks about him being the starter even when the wife beater returns. I would not even think about dropping him, I'd hope he does well in week one and then try to trade for a WR. Your WR core needs some upgrading.
Ray Rice is only 27 years old, and by all accounts, has looked great. When he returns, I think he and Pierce will share the workload....maybe a 50/50 or 60/40 split (in favor of Rice). I think that's the general consensus since I've been getting Pierce in rounds 13-15 lately. So if you wouldn't drop Pierce, who would you drop?
