I don't really mind Edelman being a number three but You already have two awesome receivers and great options for the number 3. I just wouldn't break that up for a slight improvement at rb. Combine that with Edelman losing targets after gronk and amendola come back, and I would decline.

Just my opinion though. Maybe some others here feel differently

I'm not sure that's a fair statement. Peterson is the consensus #1 pick. McCoy generally goes between 5-8. In this particular league, I got him with the #7 pick. In another league with the same settings, I got McCoy at #10.

Also, if I don't make the trade, I've have Edelman/Wallace on the bench, and I don't like the idea of having that much value on the bench (especially at the WR position).

Additionally, I'm not that high on Andre Johnson b/c he has Schaub's noodle arm throwing him the ball.

I don't think the draft position tells the whole story.
Also, hasn't schaub always thrown Johnson the ball? He was the 8th ranked wr last year with Schaub. It seems like you've made up your mind though so I guess you can do it. If the receivers work out, you'll be fine.

In one of my 10 team money leagues, I have Ryan Mathews and Daryl Richardson on the bench (Charles and Lynch starting). Should I try to sell one of them or just hold in case of injury?

If you have a flex spot, I would hold them. If you get a good offer for either I wouldn't mind moving them, but RB depth is key in the season. If your bench is at least normal size, I would add a sleeper (check my longer post on the last page). Mathews is injury prone and Richardson should be fine but still have Pead and Stacy behind him competing. Charles is getting a heavy work load and Lynch hasn't been impressive yet. Hold for now just in case.

So I failed in my previous attempts in trade. My current roster:

    Colin Kap
    Steve Smith
    Welker
    McCoy
    Chris Johnson
    Vernon Davis
    Tavon Austin (flex)

    B Myers
    Mart Bennett
    Percy Harvin
    Fred Jackson

I know have 3 TEs and I have been trying to shop Myers cause Niners and Giants have same byes. Some guy with 5 backs (Gore, Rice, D Wilson, Bradshaw, Lamar Miller), is looking for TE1 or WR2.

I want Wilson (Rice and Gore untouchable according to him). I was going to offer Austin + Myers. I just want to get a sanity check on my offer. I like Austin's upside though I know he's not exactly WR2 status. I can't give up Smith cause I'm playing against Cam this week. Let me know if I should offer a different package.

if i were you, I'd try to shop chris johnson for daryl richardson. i still don't understand the fascination with david wilson, except to say that he was touted as a #1 can't miss running back before the draft and a sleeper candidate when he was andre brown's handcuff.

wilson has a lot to prove, but of course you are trying to get him with Myers, so what I am saying is relative, just don't expect what you are expecting from him.

I would sell chris johnson right now when people still feel he's going to have a great season and couple that with the lack of respect daryl richardson is getting in fantasy. People still view richardson as a low #2 at best or a flex option, but I think he has FAR more potential than that.

Rookies always make drastic roster decisions after Week 1. Unless an injury happens or you have priority on a bigger fish, try to stay still and work on trade offers.

If you are playing in a 10 team league and you have a top flight QB, carry one QB, one TE, and one Defense so you can stash 3 extra RBs/WRs.

Keep in mind running games are dictated while passing games are often a neccessity to either keep building a lead or to escape it. Avoid a team that seems to struggle running the ball, especially on the road. Teams like Pittsburgh and New Orleans may win games but rarely by rushing consistently. Any WR who sees at least 30 snaps for these teams is a threat to score each week. This makes guys like Kenny Stills and Jerrico Cotchery have slighty higher value than other WR3s. On your bye Weeks look for the guys most likely to be involved in passing games.

RBs are a premium now. There will be only a handful of great ones. Try and trade early in the season for a stud who underperformed. Make sure he isnt battling an injury or getting too old.

moe, I'm in a 150.00 12 man league and this idiot just dropped Sidney Rice, while keeping Jonathan Stewart.

In all of my years in this league, this might be the worst move I've ever seen in this league. Unfortunately, I have to wait till thursday to bid on him, but I plan to throw 1/2 of my fantasy money at him. We get 1000.00 fantasy bidding dollars in this league and, while I may not get him because I only have 500.00 left, nobody is going to get him for LESS than half their stack.

I wouldn't bid on him. Sidney Rice is pretty bad. He's no better than some of the waiver wire guys from week 1. You have other WRs there in Golden Tate, Baldwin, etc and you have Percy coming back possibly in week 7 to be the #1 guy (once healthy), so you're bidding on a slight improvement on a bench WR for a few weeks. I'd rather take a chance on Dobson for almost no waiver money for example.

Who would you be dropping for him?

I'm not sure what Stewart's injury status is long term but it's entirely possible that come playoff time, Stewart's value will be much higher than Rice's.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Sidney Rice. Besides, you need to understand the league I'm in before you can make a judgement of the relative worth of Sidney Rice or any player.

You didn't ask, but I'll tell you that I'm in a 12 man league with 20 roster spots. That's 240 players gone before you get to week 1 waiver wire.

What does Yahoo leagues carry? 10 team leagues and 14 roster spots? That's a huge difference. In this league virtually nobody would drop a #1 wr no matter how injury prone he is, unless he was out for the season.

I'd love to play in a league with you if you drop Sidney Rice for a handcuff RB who's on the pup list and won't be back till the playoffs, and who has Cam sniping 1 yard td runs left and right.

But I suspect you are just playing devil's advocate. You ain't serious.

I just don't see you ever starting Rice and especially not later in the season and in the fantasy playoffs. So, my point is still valid that I wouldn't waste half my waiver budget on him. Players come out of nowhere to perform every year even in deep leagues like yours, I'd rather wait and save that money on someone that could be a starting RB later in the season after some injuries.

You probably don't because you've never played in a league with the lack of a free agent pool such as ours.

Is rice worth half my budget? That is arguable, I suppose. But I am looking for a more experience WR for my core. It also doesn't hurt that I have Russell Wilson on my team as well.

My bench is full of upside talent:
    Jermaine Kearse
    Andre Ellington
    Alfonso Smith
    Bernard Pierce
    Quinton Patton
    Jordan Reed
    TJ Graham

    Andrew Luck
    Russell Wilson

    My experience players:
    Doug Baldwin
    Brandon Lafell

Yeah I'd keep Rice. But who knows.

I was just offered Ronnie Hillman and Josh Gordon for Steve Smith..
