I'm still wary on Brown because Rivers was passing the ball to several different playmakers last week. Also, the Eagles have typically had trouble against tight ends and although Gates is on the decline, he can still create match-up problems so I figure he is going to see a lot of targets Sunday. The Falcons couldn't stop the Saints but it was Brees, Samuel was out and I believe they started a rookie or two. That might be an intriguing one of the same situation arises. If Henne plays over Gabbert, which looks like it is happening, then Shorts value goes up. In addition, I don't think Oakland's defense is on the same level as Kansas City. I'd go with Shorts slightly over the rest, for now. I'd go slightly with Shorts just because of the QB change.
The Eagles have had trouble covering tight ends for a while now because none of their linebackers/defensive backs can cover pass catching tight ends well. The Broncos gave up 8 catches and 100 yards to tight ends in week 1. I'd say it is a push.
I don't know why these people are trying to hook me up, but I was just proposed Decker for Bennett. The guy was desperate for a TE. This is fantastic. Sorry, just thought I'd share my fortunes with you
Should I start Frank Gore against the Seahawks? My bench has Rashard Mendenhall and Daryl Richardson.
Should I.......Sell High/Buy Low for Week 2: I'll write this based on my opinion to look at certain players to trade away or trade for in a typical sell high/buy low scenario. My intent is to give a semi detailed analysis and then to make some trade suggestions. Obviously every league is different and some leagues are easier/harder to pull off these trades. At the bottom you'll see an Eye on the Waiver Wire section. Let me know if y'all find this post helpful and I'll try to continue. Sell High Julian Edelman - Has had solid games (about 20/26 pts in PPR leagues). Right now he's the Patriots #1 receiver and it could continue for a few weeks. Great PPR Play. Why sell high: He's injury prone. Check out his injury history but there's a good number of injuries that are not good for WRs and I'm scared he'll get injured again. Right now lots of the Patriots' weapons are injured. Gronk is looking to come back around week 4 and will take over as the lead target, Amendola is out 2-6 weeks and then well return as the best WR on the team, there have been no real TEs on the field, the rookies (Dobson, Thompkins, Boyce) have a decent chance of increasing their roles as they build trust with Brady. Possible targets: Better WRs that are currently injured, but will get better in the year like Dez Bryant (will have to include some more) or Roddy White. Else look for guys that have started out disappointing and you should be able to get another improvement along with TY Hilton, Josh Gordon or someone like that. Buy Low Ridley and Wilson - Both struggled week 1 and Ridley did not look great week 2. Ridley will get a lot of work going forward and with Vereen out the Patriots will continue to use Ridley significantly, especially if the WRs keep dropping passes. Wilson has to be used, I'm not buying the Giants getting away from him, they other RBs there just aren't as talented. Giants also have a history of fixing fumble issues (Victor Cruz and Tiki Barber, for example). How to get them? Try to make packages around your lower level guys that have performed so far. Maybe an extra TE that had a good week 1, someone like Mendenhall, D Richardson, Powell, etc. Sell High Anquan Boldin - he won't have another game of that magnitude. 49ers will continue to be a running team and Boldin's fantasy value will fluctuate drastically. The division has pretty good secondaries in it which will be 6 games of the remaining schedule. I think a lot of people will over react to this performance creating an artificial value. Who to target? A player like Steve Smith, Antonio Brown (although that offense looks rough, might want to wait a week) or Cecil Shorts. If you need RB badly, good time to flip Boldin for Lamar Miller or Gio Bernard in PPR leagues to try and get a solid RB that have real potential. Buy Low Jimmy Graham and Cam Newton - you may wonder what these two have in common but it's simple: Marque guys who did not have their best game in week 1 while many others at their position outplayed their potential. If you do have a QB/TE that played well week 1 and probably shouldn't have (i.e. a Owen Daniels and Michael Vick) try to make a small package around these guys and target Graham (especially in PPR) and Newton. I do have a small concern with Newton and this semi-new offense but worth the upside risk, especially if you're trading away a player that is as injury prone as Vick. This one more than my other suggestions may be harder to pull off because the owners probably used 2nd and possibly 3rd round picks on these two players so I might take an addition mediocre week to be able to truly snag these guys at low value. Eye on the Waiver Wire First, many players are not using their IR slot when they could be. Put a player in this slot if you have it, you can always drop them if you need to slot later. IR players to pick up: Percy Harvin (could be a very valuable WR when healthy which could be as soon as week 7) Andre Brown (if Wilson keeps struggling, he could have value when he comes back) Shane Vereen Normal waiver wire(slightly deeper than the weekly main pick ups): RBs that could be valuable with one injury ahead of them/an opportunity/etc: Forsett, Clay, Donald Brown, Mike Goodson, Isiah Pead WRs to watch: Marlon Brown and Harry Douglas QB: Keep watching Pryor, Manuel and Geno for potential. I would especially make a move if I had Freeman as a backup.
Ivenovember, you should keep writing those. I tried to buy low on Ridley but ended up taking Marshalland Ridley for sjax and white . Not exactly a buy low but whatever
Non-ppr scoring. Start 2 RB & 3 WR. RB: McCoy, Forte, Moreno, Ball WR: Cobb, Andre Johnson, Edelman, Garcon, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders Received an offer of Adrian Peterson for McCoy & Andre Johnson. What do you guys think?
I wouldn't. Shady will be a stud this year and your wr will be too thin with the trade McCoy forte Cobb, dre, garcon
Certainly a lot weaker than your current rotation. Peterson is not enough of an upgrade to warrant weakening your wrs so much. It obviously depends on how much you trust McCoy and the eagles though.
