I wouldn't necessarily look at it that way. You want to get good value each round and at each position. In a normal league this year, the QBs are pretty deep and there's definitely 12 you could start and get away with without losing too much. So drafting Stafford/Romo in round 6/7 might be a better strategy. But look if a QB you like starts to drop some and you could grab him too. RBs are the thinnest so make sure you get quality starting RBs early, and snag a good top receiver if you can too. TE, if you don't get Graham or Gronkowski, just wait till the end and grab someone like Sudfield or Cameron. Make sure you know your scoring system, if it's PPR or not, or if there is anything else different, that can change the "value" of certain players.
Thanks again for you input. My whole draft strategy kinda messed up when I couldn't nab Gronk. Your post about not having a tier 1 RB makes me feel better. My first 4 picks were Calvin Johnson/AJ Green/Brady/AJ. Bush is my freakin #1
can someone provide a list of players ranked according to each position? QB, RB, WR, TE, Defense, Kicker man, i'm so nervous...my draft is at 5 pm now!
Just use google and sites like yahoo, nfl, cbs, etc and compare each rankings to get agood idea... Also don't draft a defense or kicker until the last 2rds, with kicker being your last pick.
I'd drop Redman. He'll likely be part of a bad running back committee with an atrocious offensive line leading the way. Kenbrell has major upside due to his chemistry with Brady and you still have pretty good depth at RB even with the absence of Redman.
I like CBS rankings the best: http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/rankings/top200 Make sure you're on yearly and then you can do by position or top 200 overall.
I've gotta slot spot that I feel will be crucial to my game this week. Who do you think will fill it best: James Jones vs SF Sidney Rice vs Caroina Vick Ballard vs OAK Brandon Myers vs Cowgirls
I'm drafting last, and it's snake. Any winning strategies, because I'll get the 1st pick of the second round... should i get 2 RBs?
Look out for Richardson, Morris (if not PPR), Manning/Brees (if 6pt TDs), Graham, Bryant (if not PPR), Megatron.
You can go WR or QB now, matters who's available. I wouldn't pass up a stud WR but having a solid QB is always nice too.
reading CBS analysis, and the recommendation was to pick up jimmy graham so i went with jimmy graham and AJ... quarterback is my next pick... any suggestions?
i'm not too happy with my squad.. can anyone give suggestions on who i should draft next...still needing a flex and defense, kicker, and bench so far, QB matt ryan RB lesean mccoy RB matt forte WR andre johnson WR danny amendola TE jimmy graham it sucks i know...any suggestions?
