I do but according to all the reports it was minor and precautionary and typical of San Diego, I still have him starting. DD
Latest on Ryan Mathews - upgraded to probable. (TheHuddle) The San Diego Chargers expect RB Ryan Mathews (foot) to return to practice Friday, Sept. 30. Mathews missed the past two days of practice with a sore foot. There does not seem to be any doubt that he will be available to play in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. DD
Different variation this time: Pick 2 -Denarius Moore vs NE -Torrey Smith vs NYJ -Eric Decker @ GB -Cedric Benson vs BUF Other starters are Stafford/A Peterson/Hightower/Fitzgerald/Whitten. Other bench are Rivers/Wells. Also, does any website do RB/WR flex projections or rankings?
You're definitely starting Benson, so it comes down to Moore or Decker. Both have pretty favorable matchups. I'm leaning towards Decker but I don't think you'd be wrong to start either.
do I cut Julio Jones or McGahee for Eric Decker? Or neither? Or maybe Mark Ingram? (rookie RB) Julio has the name, but he's the same as Decker...a #2 WR McGahee had a bad week, but might be a starting RB for a while if Moreno continues to suck when he gets back
I don't think decker or jones are number 2s. They are 3s or flex players. You can basically shuffle them up and determine which player will have a good game. A number 2 is a guy that can get you a consistent 15 points a game every week. A guy like Steve Smith, Santana Moss or reggie wayne.
Pick 2: Deion Branch @ OAK Dexter McCluster vs. MIN Mario Manningham @ ARI Steve Smith @ CHI Marques Colston @ JAX
Moss has been very consistent this year. Not much upside, but also not a lot of risk either. I would really cringe if I had to play Julio Jones in any week. His erraticness is just too scary. Decker and Mcghee are safer plays but again as flex players or number 3s. Just my opinion. It's the same with me and fred davis. I'm stuck with the guy, but I don't really like having to play him.
I added in Ingram to the list.. yeah I think it comes down to Ingram or Julio. One of the rookies should prob. go for Decker
I'm going back and forth between McCluster and Manningham. I have a feeling that Giants/Cards game is going to be a real shootout, while I can't see the Chiefs even scoring a single TD.
PPR? Branch and McCluster I can't imagine Branch doing nothing in consecutive games. Since I'm starting him in both my leagues, I sure hope he comes through.
I had to confuse the situation, but being a McCluster owner I can tell you that I am not sold on this guy at all. I haven't played him one week in my league and I don't plan on it until I can be sure that he is playing exceptionally well. That said, you have some interesting choices here. I am not a big Branch fan, and I picked against him last week, and I just can't bring myself to believe in this guy. Brady's number 1 target is still Wes Welker and I do believe that after that 4 interception day that Stevan Ridley, Ben Ellis, and Woodhead are going to get a lot of carries this week. Call me crazy but I sort of like Colston in this spot. If he is cleared to play, he is by far the most consistent Saint receiver. The other guy I like is Manningham. Well, I say that but I also like smith too. I will say this much that Smith and Manningham, whichever guy you choose, will carry a slight risk. Smith, because we aren't totally sure in Cam just yet, and Manningham because he hasn't done much this year. The only reason I lean to manninghan is because of Eli, but I could be wrong on that. Steve Smith has a way of breaking your heart when you doubt him the most.
if you have great RBs, I will drop McGahee or Ingram (the saints rb is split between sproles, pierre thomas and ingram).
Deion Branch sucks. He's WW/bye week filler material. I like McCluster cause he has WR/RB eligibility. I think he'll be good for a solid amount of points even without a TD. I too think Cards vs Giants will be a shootout with both teams scoring around the 30's. Manningham should be a good play. Steve Smith is the ultimate feast or famine player of all time. I think this week it's going to be famine against a tough Bears D but you never know cause he can bust out for 30pts. I like Colston if he can go. If you think your matchup is going to be competitive I'd go with McCluster/Manningham. If you think you're going to lose by a lot of win by a lot I'd go with Steve Smith and Colston.
RB: Forte, Hillis, Foster, Addai, Roy Helu WR: Welker, Marshall, McCluster, Brandon Gibson 2 RB 2 WR 1 Flex. Status of Hillis (and timesharing with Hardesty) makes me want to entertain the idea to start Addai instead... dumb idea?
