Also Is Miles Austin worth picking up? With Roy Williams proving to be nothing, he may emerge as Romo's #1 target.
Not this week, he has a bye... Miles had a whale of a game but it was against KC. Try Johnny Knox if he's still there.
i don't need him this week, I just meant for future reference. I already have Hines Ward, Donald Driver, TJ Houshmanzadeh, Mario Manningham, and Mike Sim-Walker. I have been picking up and dropping Knox every couple weeks and started him few times, but he has dropped his production the past few weeks. Just thought Austin could be a sleeper. My team is in first place by a pretty wide margin so it's not a big deal.
It's still Brees we are talking about AND sean payton and company have had an extra week to prepare for the Giants AND the Giants have a damn good offense and will put up some points so the saints will need to throw the ball just to stay in the game. Granted the Giants have a solid defense and pass rush. AND Cincy has a good defense as well. Teams haven't put up a lot of points agains them. I think you start Brees here and don't even think twice about it. I think this is a no brainer.
Picked up Brandon Marshall for Sims-Walker. But now I have a dilemma. I can only start 2 WR Steve Smith (NYG) @ New Orleans Marques Colston vs NY Giants Brandon Marshall @SD I like the matchup for Brandon Marshall, so I might start him for sure. I guess it's down to Colston vs Smith (NY) Eli seems more consistent than Brees, and he looks to pass to Smith a lot. Brees spreads it out more, so Colston is not as much of a guarantee. We've seen Colston end up with less than 5 points in previous weeks. Plus, Giants defense is pretty good. On the flip side, Eli is injured and may not be able to move around in the pocket. New Orleans' secondary is doing pretty good as well. Who should I start?
I'm amazed that this was even a possibility. Brandon Marshall was a free agent in your league? Are the other owners in your league corpses? I'd start Steve Smith and then flip a coin between Colston and Marshall. I'd say their potential this weekend would be similar.
haha the off-the-field issue scared a lot of owners away. Every week, he's been committing more and more to the team again. I think this week will be his official welcome back party. I'll probably start Smith/Marshall
his welcoem back party was 2 weeks ago. his "everyone who wasn't half asleep will realize it now" party was this past week Tough problem to have. Tossup between all 3 of them. Chargers have a weak run defense, so the Broncos might run it more.. I think I'd start Smith and Colston maybe..
oh, and I don't think it's as ridiculous a question as some made it seem Sims-Walker is gonna be good all year, too I would have tried to find someone else to drop rather than him unless your league is 10 teams or smaller. Maybe cut a defense and try and make a trade during the week (maybe trade Steve Smith even).. too late now though
I was just offered DeAngelo Williams, Roy Williams WR, and the Saints D for Frank Gore. My current backs are Jones-Drew, Gore, Ray Rice, and Sporles. My current WR's are Holmes, Smith (Car), Edwards, Manningham, Maclin My DST is the Bengals. Opinions?
This is exactly why it isn't a no brainer. I have this feeling that the game will be low scoring due to the Saints' improved defense. Also, the Saints have been running the ball really well, which might take some TD's away from Brees in the redzone. They have been playing well, but Schaub might bring his A game to silence the doubters. Brees and Schaub are both projected around the same output this week, which makes the decision that much tougher. I don't see the running game improving much this week so that should lead the Texans to rely heavily on the passing game.
All very good points and you may be on to something here. But I think the ceiling is higher for Brees. They may both have good games, but you'd be sick if Brees has one of those 6TD games. Also, what about the weather? Will it be cold/rainly in Cincy?
No way. Gore is a top tier running back in a run heavy offense. Roy Williams is pretty much worthless right now.
well it doesn't look like you have anyone to drop for Roy Williams unless you have a useless backup QB or backup TE or backup K So essentially the deal is DeAngelo and the Saints for Gore. I think if you didn't have depth, you might consider doing it to get rid of the Gore injury risk But you have Ray Rice back there and Sproles in case of emergency...I'd stick with Gore
Should I drop devin hester (we have return yards) to pick up hassleback? Dude has 7 TD in 10 quarters. i already have brady and flacco on my team.
Just traded Donald Brown, Santonio Holmes and Moreno for Andre Johsnon and Dwyane Bowe. My Team now looks like this. QB: Rivers RB: AP RB: Marion Barber RB/WR: Reggie Bush WR: T.J. Whoseyourmama WR: Andre Johnson TE: Kellen Winslow DS/T: Colts K: Ryan Lindell Bench: Jeremy Shockey Johnny Knox Tashard Choice David Garrard Tory Holt
I received an offer for M. Colston. I would have received L. McCoy and D. Bowe. I seriously considered it until I peeked at the Saints upcoming schedule. After the Giants game it looks like a cakewalk.
