Unfortunately, the superbowl for my league is not until NEXT week, so this is just the championship of my division this week. I know some choices are obvious (QB), but others are not (RB), so I will go ahead and list the entire team. Quarterbacks (chose 1) -Matt Schaub @ Den -Donovan McNabb @ Jac -Joe Webb @ Phi Wide Receiver (chose 2) -Andre Johnson @ Den -Brandon Lloyd vs. Hou -Anquan Boldin @ Cle -Stevie Johnson vs. NE -Mario Manningham @ GB -Jabar Gaffney vs. Hou -Joe Webb @ Phi (keep in mind, I am in a QB heavy league where each pass completion is a point, Webb got me 28 pts last week) Running Back (chose 2) -Arian Foster @ Den -Peyton Hillis vs. Bal -Jamaal Charles vs. Ten -LaGarrette Blount vs. Sea -Mike Tolbert vs. Cin Flex Spot (Chose any 1 player from the list of receivers and running backs) Tight End (pick 1) - Aaron Hernandez @ Buf - Tony Moeaki vs. Ten - Owen Daniels @ Den Defense -New Orleans @ Atl -I only have one defense, but this matchup scares me, but the best defenses available to add are Cleveland, Tampa Bay, St. Louis or Indy, any worth adding?
Pick my defense for the bronze medal game: NYG @ GB TB vs SEA BAL @ CLE DET @ MIA Leaning towards TB or BAL... Sidenote: I have the Giants D and Rodgers and Jennings, so if they play, I am much more inclined to ditch NYG.
I think most of your picks are pretty much gimmees: QB: Schaub -- he's been putting up monster numbers week in, week out WR: Webb -- QB at WR in your QB happy league, enough said AJ -- always nice to have the best WR in league being thrown to by YOUR fantasy QB Lloyd -- even with Tebow under center, you gotta roll with Lloyd against HOU RB: Foster -- you simply have to roll with your beast Hillis -- see above TE: Hernandez -- he's been somewhat inconsistent in a time-split, but he's a TE catching passes from Brady and better than your alts. DEF: Tampa Bay -- easily the better matchup, Seattle has looked terrible and Hasselbeck has thrown 6 INT in his last couple of games...their running game is a mess as well, no consistency between Lynch, Forsett, Washington
I have a feeling GB will get Rodgers back for this big matchup...Tampa Bay looks to be the best DEF here. BAL and DET are too iffy, don't ya think?
Cleveland has a bottom 3 offense and Baltimore will be playing for playoff seeding. Detroit is hot right now and has an insane pass rush and Miami is out of the playoff hunt and will likely roll over. Tampa's defense isn't great, but Seattle SUCKS on the East coast.
I think you can rule out NYG. BAL might be the answer, but CLE has surprised some teams late this season, haven't they? Don't underestimate Colt and Hillis to move the ball and score. DET...I just have a hard time rolling with the Motor City in the final game of FFB. Again, they COULD very well put up good numbers against MIA....just hard to trust. TB didn't deliver this past week, but I think SEA at home could be just what the Dr. ordered. just my $.02
I'm going with Baltimore if Rodgers plays. Tampa will be my "oh ****" backup in case something changes.
Baltimore is the best of the bunch defense wise, but last time they played Cleveland they really didn't do much. I think only 2 sacks and no takeaways. Regardless out of all those defenses I would go with with them and just take what they give me. Hopefully they are pissed about not killing Cleveland the first time and will put them away quick.
The lack of takeaways has dogged them all year. Cleveland takes good care of the ball, but it's a low risk pick for sure.
Conundrum folks: I got Webb at flex right now and Jennings, Maclin, Bowe at WR. I got Blount and Britt sitting on the bench. Should I switch Blount to the flex, and bring Britt off the bench into the lineup for Jennings/Bowe? I want to bet on Webb breaking 15-20 for me at flex, since he'll be doing a combo run/pass game, especially with Favre out for sure with nfl restrictions on concussions and them playing Philly which had been relatively kind to the Giants last week on given up yards and points. As for Britt, he's coming back strong and has a good chemistry with Collins, plus Bowe/Jennings might be locked down as #1 starters due to playoffs comin up and teams focusing in on stopping impact players. I'm listening to any/all opinions!
I'd go with that and pray for NO defense, they aren't that spectacular but better than any on your waivers.
Playoffs week 1 in my league. The usual drill: pick 5 with a 3 RB max. Also pick a TE and kicker. I'm not sure which way to go on WR. Rodgers is cleared, so Jennings could be a factor again. Does VJax have another monster game in him especially if Floyd plays? *help?* Mike Wallace CAR - Thurs night game Greg Jennings NYG Vincent Jackson @CIN Roddy White NO - on MNF Darren McFadden IND Jamaal Charles TEN LeGarrette Blount SEA Thomas Jones TEN TE Tony Gonzalez NO - on MNF Jimmy Graham @ATL - MNF Kicker Nate Kaeding @CIN Janikowski IND Rivers is my QB and NYG is my D/ST, so I'm good there. Thanks dudes!
Would any of you guys consider starting Joe Webb @ PHI over... Roddy White vs. NO DeSean Jackson vs. MIN Greg Jennings vs. NYG Stevie Johnson vs. NE ?
Personally i wouldn't just because he is such a wild card. Now if he was playing a crappy team then I would consider it.
Sydney Rice or Braylon Edwards? I have horrible WRs, and the best available free agents are Steve Breaston, Derrick Mason, Jacoby ford, Kevin Walter, and Jabar Gaffney Or maybe I should pick up Webb and gamble? lol HALP PLZ
Webb put up 13 pts in standard Yahoo leagues this past week...in one half. And that was a pretty bad game for him. If he plays, I don't see how you sit a QB with WR eligibility...ESPECIALLY if you're looking for help there. Pretty confident he'll put up double digits.
Well if Favre was officially listed with out with a concussion due to last game, doesn't he (Webb) then turn into a MUST play starter? If i'm not mistaken, the NFL does not allow QBs to return the following week after a concussion regardless of how they feel (see Aaron Rodgers).
I think as long as you pass a concussion test (on Wednesday?), you can play. I remember reading something along those lines during the week Kolb was knocked out and I snatched up Vick on Tuesday just in case... turned out to be a good gamble!
Pick 5; somebody has to sit out. Who's it going to be? Greg Jennings NYG Vincent Jackson @CIN Roddy White NO Darren McFadden IND Jamaal Charles TEN LeGarrette Blount SEA Right now, I'm leaning towards benching White. He's been too quiet since the BAL game.
