Gore and Turner Oakland's rush defense isn't good, so I wouldn't blame you for flopping Mendenhall for Turner. I think you have to start Gore this week.
I know I gave Yo_Yo the advice to play Garcon but now after learning that Collie may be back soon, should I: Pick 2 Pierre Garcon @NE Wes Welker vs Ind Santana Moss @Ten Thomas Jones vs Ari Ronnie Brown vs Chi
Week 11 Conundrum: Pick 5 starters with a max of 3 RBs: WR - Roddy White @STL WR - Greg Jennings @MIN WR - Mike Wallace OAK WR - Pierre Garcon @NE RB - Jamaal Charles ARI RB - Thomas Jones ARI RB - Darren McFadden @PIT RB - LeGarrette Blount @SF I'm thinking of going with 3WR/2RB by benching Garcon and Jones for sure. I'm leaning towards Blount as the 2nd RB, because I think the Steelers will probably stuff McFadden. I'd say there's a good chance I will end up leaving points on the bench either way.
Roddy White, Mike Wallace, Jamaal Charles are must starts. I'm done with Pierre Garcon, he just won't get it done despite getting every opportunity. McFadden looks like he has the toughest matchup, but he could get it done and Pittsburgh looks vulnerable especially if you can challenge them vertically. I tend to agree with the 3WR strategy with White, Wallace and Jennings this week. There's nothing wrong with starting both Chiefs running backs here, although I'd probably go with LeGarrette Blount over Thomas Jones.
Actually I just dropped Garcon and picked up Keiland Williams. I'm not sure about starting him in week 11 though; I picked him to stash away from the competition.
Pick 1 (I know, all pretty poor choices): Lee Evans @ Cin Mike Goodson vs. Bal Davone Bess vs. Chi I like Goodson, especially since he ran well last week, DeAngelo Williams is officially done, and Jonathan Stewart still hasn't practiced since his concussion. That said, Baltimore's run defense is solid.
Baltimore's run defense is more than solid - they just held Michael freaking Turner to 3.6 fantasy points. Still, it's a crapshoot you've got there. Davone Bess might have Chris Leak throwing to him this week for all we know. Lee Evans has the most upside and I'd probably start him, but I wouldn't blame you if you went with Goodson.
I have Aaron Hernandez right now and after Gronkowski's incredible performance I don't know how that will effect Herndendez's play time and if I should hold on to him?
Don't sit Turner! I know he had an off week against the Ravens this past Thursday but if you look at his track record (when healthy) the week after a weak performance from him he has decent to monster outtings. Just saying if I were you I would go Gore/Turner. Plus Mendenhall has an shoulder injury that has Mewelde Moore taking a few carries away from him, to keep him fresh for the playoffs. Good situation to be in regardless but that's my thinking.
Hernandez has been the yardage guy all season long for NE while Gronkowski is the TD threat in the red zone and short yardage situation. But after this week I don't know how much it will remain that way. Gronkowski looked good and might have a better rapport with Brady now.
Thanks for the Mendenhall info, I hadn't heard about the injury. I am 9-1 with a 3 game lead on 2nd place. We don't have playoffs just a 17 week straight schedule. My magic number is pretty much 4 because the tie breaker is points and I am almost 150 points ahead of either of the two 2nd place teams.
I'd stay away from Pats receivers if you can. They have so many receivers yet no clear cut number 1 so all their production is hit or miss. I think Hernandez had 2 tds a couple weeks ago and Gronk just had a week with 2. Woodhead, Welker, Edelman, Tate, Branch, Hernandez, Gronkowski etc. That's a lot of options to throw to. If you absolutely had to pick a TE between Hernandez and Gronk I'd go with Gronk because he's the better TD threat cause he gets targeted more in the end zone. However, Hernandez will get more receptions and yards and can pop off as well. I don't think you can go wrong or right depending on your outlook between the two. Just pick 1 and don't regret your decision cause it really is a tossup each week.
Reposting since I haven't gotten a comment about WR. And since I forgot part of it too. I also need advice on one of these 3 Brandon Marshall v Chi Dez Bryant v Det Steve Johnson @ Cin
The injury was a tweak a couple weeks back. I have him as well and have been sticking with him but his numbers are definitely down. The main reason he's not getting as many touches is because the Steelers are down and have to throw the ball more as evident in the last game. Moore is a better receiver out of the backfield so that's why he was getting a lot more looks against NE. I have a feeling they go back to pounding it 20+ times with Mendy for the rest of the year because when they were doing that at the beginning of the year they were 5-1. I know they have tried to establish the pass more to get Ben into a rhythm but it's not working and they will have to run the ball better to open the passing lanes up for Ben. Mewelde will not take that many carries away from Mendy unless they are down. This week they play the Raiders who have the leagues worst run defense. He should shred them in my opinion.
I go with Bryant and Johnson only because Marshall has a third string quarter back passing him the ball. I just don't like that matchup and the circumstances personally.
If I have Aaron Hernandez (PATS rookie TE) as a backup to Gates, should I drop Aaron for McMichael (the Chargers backup TE) just to cover my butt each week with Gates?
I need a starting RB. My two best choices have the worst matchups, so should I go with the quality player or better match-up? McFadden @ Pittsburgh McCoy vs NYG Blount @ SF ...and should I play the match-up and start Santonio Holmes over Fitzgerald?
I guess this is a good problem to have, but, it's still a problem.... Rivers against Denver Monday night or Vick against the Giants? How can I possibly bench Vick?
