actually i just noticed he subbed in Mike Wallace at the last minute...its really interesting because this guy never subs in anyone the only time he has subbed in is when the commish would have benefited from him winning. (a few of us believe the commish urged him to make the roster changes...or maybe he made them himself I dont know there is no way to prove it of couse buts its one of those "something doesnt smell right" moments) he is up by 2 points right now with Wallace and the Pats D, I have the Pitt D and Vick going tomorrow night...I should have started Dez instead of Sims-Walker that mistake probably would have killed me on most weeks hopefully it wont tonight.
I'm sorry Zig, we seriously failed you. I went against Johnson and he did not too much against me, I saw all the points Freddy put up against that horrible run D of the Lions. Austin did pretty well and with Sims-Walker's injury he put up a big stinker. Sorry man.
Yoyo, it doesnt get any worse with me being 5-4 facing the 1-8 team and losing by 12 right now. I've given up the most poitns in the league by more then 100 compared to 2nd place. This is the league where I have Wayne, Adrian Peterson, Mendenhall, Brandon Marshall, so much talent and I fail somehow. Oh, I got Moreno and Fred Jackson on the bench? Maybe I should have benched AP and Mendenhall.
well there are 5 teams in my league tied for first, i am one of them so everyone needs to keep winning...right now it seems like 2 of those teams will lose those weeks, 2 will win/have won and i could lose but i find it unlikely if Pitt is able to score a garbage TD and I still have Vick going tomorrow. yeah I had Knox, Bryant on my bench and I started Garcon and Sims-Walker Turner had a crap week I didnt expect him to do well but I also didnt expect Shonn Greene to get like 11 points this week either. i just need the TD to be scored by anyone but Wallace...hopefully Mendenhall punches it through.
Indeed, this is a key week for you. I'm down by 12 with Brady and Mendenhall left, I hope Mend scores at some point this game, even multiple scores with him would be great somehow.
so the commish just posted this on the league's msg board: we all hate JOBUNESS and his luck. I did tell STEAMERS to fill his lineup. Can't blame Jobuness for that. My team name is Jobuness and my opponent is the Steamers he told him to make a sub..mike wallace who has 6.9 points tonight so far...if I end up losing this week by less than what Wallace ends up with I am going to pull out of the league its ridiculous when the commish tells other people to make subs...he wouldnt say anything if he was going up against Steamers this week. that touchdown by the NE D hurt I am down 15 right now with some time left for both NE and Wallace to Score with just Vick playing tomorrow night. My hope is for Pitt to score with the entire drive consisting of Pitt players not named Wallace... Just the most wonderful time for the Pitt D to give me a goose egg..so many points scored..no turnovers..no sacks OH and the Commish's team is one of the 4 team's tied for first place along with myself
So my opponent had four players score zero points...and I'm down 4 points. I still have Vick going tomorrow, but now I have to worry about injuries and such. I should have a stress free Monday...
i am dead thanks to Wallace having a 30 point night..that return TD by NE hurt a lot too...Need Vick to score 38 points for me to win...sigh poor substitutions by me hurt me the most though if the commish didnt interfere/meddle it shouldnt have hurt me since I would then be online down 5 with Vick tomorrow instead of being down 37
I'm the opposite. I needed Wallace to simply get 4 points for me to win one of my matches. I was nervous heading into the fourth, but he safely got there.
One of my leagues is very tight as well. The best team (2 of 'em) are 6-3, but there's only one 3-6 team. The rest are 5-4 or 4-5, so a few losses in a row throws any of us out of the playoffs. I am 6-3 and was playing the other 6-3 team this week... and I pulled out a squeaker by 5 points. I had the lead going into the Pitt/NE game and all his players had played, so the game wasn't stressful and didn't matter... and it's a good thing, too, because Hernandez and Ward both put up goose eggs. I will note, though, both teams in my division lost (they were 3-6 and 4-5) and I am now 7-3 with a 3-game lead in the division. I'm basically a lock for the playoffs at this point. Yay! My other team (which I think is a much better team) is fighting back. I'll be 5-5 after this week, having won two straight. The rest of my opponents are sub-.500 teams, so hopefully going 8-5 will get me into the playoffs. Unfortunately, this is a more polarized league so the top teams have great records.
I'd drop out of that league win or lose this week if I were you. Obviously the dude is shady and will pull all the stops to win at freakin fantasy football. Is it a money league at least? I mean if its not that justifies his low down moves even less. My league gives a 300 dollar pay out to the winner but I know if the commish ever pulled something like that I'd ask for my refund and gladly resign my team from the league. THAT'S HORSESH!T YOYO!!!
Meh, I wouldn't drop out. I'd win it. I did that for a fantasy baseball league last season. The commissioner made two bulls**t teams just so the draft could happen, and then after drafting terrible players, he filled it up with OK free agents. Basically, both teams that he controlled became his farm system. If he wanted someone off the team, he'd trade to it. One time, it was a stupidly one-sided trade in his main team's favor so I vetoed it. The next day, veto votes were gone and all trades were only with commissioner approval. Obviously, this pissed me off because he was so blatantly cheating. But that made it all the more satisfying when I crushed him in the semifinals of the playoffs.
its a money league its not a lot of money it was 20 bucks per team and there are 12 teams I have no idea how payout even works in it there is 240 dollars total. I mean I know the commish were were roommates in college and after college too for a bit he is a real nice guy BUT 1) the guy is way too competitive to a fault...a point where I have seen him just hurt other people's feelings just for the sake of winning...the only way he has fun is if he wins and wins big...we used to play in a basketball league together and I saw a lot of good guys not get asked back to the team because he felt they weren't good enough when we had won at that time 2 straight league championships..we just didnt go undefeated thats all ...I'm not very good at basketball I'm not bad but not good and the only way I was still on the team is because I had known him for so long and sure enough earlier this year I was the "weakest" link and was asked to go. He made it seem though I was the one not able to make commitments though since he made practices on Saturdays knowing fully well my weekends are always really really busy. 2) The commish got made that I voted against his trade which ended up going through away (he got mcfadden and big ben for moreno and torain). Since I voted against that trade he called me a punk for voting against it and said "it is done and now i can do my best to root against you guys" - us guys here are the 2 other ppl (besides him) I know personally in the league ..one of them also voted no the other said he would vote along with the majority but he didnt like the trade but he never voted himself since Yahoo doesnt show votes or anything..We didnt know we needed just 4 votes to veto a trade at the time. Ever since I voted against a trade I found to be lopsided he was all mad at me...when being able to vote is within my rights as a league member. (also why I thought it was unfair was the guy he was trading with was one of those guys I just know by name but I at least know him by name no one else in the league even knows this guy except the commish so it was like he had an 'exclusive' trade partner) 3) i was going to have the other 2 guys I know and him over to watch football all day a few sundays ago at the last minute he asked if he could could bring his GF along to which I said no its supposed to be a 'guys only' thing since the 3 of us all know he acts totally different with his GF and he argues a lot with her and he got really upset at that and took some really cheap blows at me via txt about why I didnt want her there and all. 4) on the flip side of the trade thing the other two guys I know (and he was going to root against) were going to make a trade with each other (another lopsided trade) and it was veto'ed but the commish again told me in the a chat that he asked everyone in the league if they had voted or not and how they voted if they did..as soon as I logged on he msgs me asking if I had voted...strange he never asked me that of any of the other trade and I thought that was jacked him for him to contact everyone in the league to see if they voted and how they voted because even if someone didnt vote if the commish is asking then most people who were on the fence or didnt care would then vote. The trade actually effected him the most because he was facing the team that would have won in the lopsided trade this weekend. 5) he probably hates me the most for beating him in our head to head matchup where I really won by luck i know it was luck and I admitted it (won by less than a pont thanks to 15 garbage time yards by Law Firm) but he tries to make it a point that I have been able to build up my winning record purely based on luck and nothing else which I feel is a total insult to me since I felt I've made some good pickups and started some guys in good matchups. I knew I would be at a disadvantage when I joined the league of the 11 other teams I knew 3 other people at a personal level, 1 other guy I would definitely talk to if I saw him somewhere but I wouldnt actively keep in touch with him, and the rest I have either met at an odd basketball game or I have only heard of by name. Usually I prefer to play in league where I know no one (and no one knows each other personally like with CF) or I know everyone personally and they in turn know everyone else even if its a smaller sized league. I only agreed to play in this league because he needed one more to make 12 and had asked me. and I missed the draft - my own fault I had to take care of something that was far more important at the time and I ended up with a horrible team (draft here ) but making some good pickups and one trade I was able to share a tie of first place which I will lose tonight unless Vick goes off ..like 40 points off...I dont see it happening. Granted I made some bad lineup choices this week which didnt help at all (both my benched WR and TE scored significantly more than my starters) and some terrible luck - first time the Pitt D didnt record a sack or turnover for me AND i lost a point since they gave up so many last night. I had some bad luck and my opponent had some amazing luck ... he had the Giants' defense benched and played the NE defense this week since he had bothered to switch defenses back to the giants since NYG's bye week. while I still had the advantage of more guys playing this week than last week all of his players before his substitution of Wallace averaged like 16 points..mine? if it wasnt for Fred Jackson having a blowup game I would have been blown out this week easily. Of course in FF a large portion of the game is luck I had bad luck this week my opponent despite not playing as many guys had great luck. One can easily make the case that I am just complaining for no reason especially when I had more guys playing and thats true I have no argument against that but the point is that this particular guy (who I dont know) in our league clearly does not care about this league at all he has one of the worst records in the league (tied for last place i think) and is just there. To make a last second substitution (the only sub he could make since his bench has a bunch of injured players - Pierre Thomas, Addai that he didnt drop) is totally uncharteristic of him had he made the sub Sunday morning it would be one thing or even Sunday afternoon but it was made like at 519 just before kickoff....then I saw the post in the league msg board by the commissioner. I had suspected already he may have told this guy but I thought it was pretty dumb of him to actually post that he did. I'm just upset because despite giving a **** roster I've been able to make enough changes to come back from an 0-2 start to take a share of first place at 6-3 (soon to be 6-4 after this week). I know he has been talking **** about my team to everyone else since my friends sent me an email now and then from him that he "conveniently" forgets me on. No more trades since the deadline was last friday and so I just have to go with what I have and play the waiver wire. Sorry for the long venting post..having a crap day at work and just having to have dealt with this in my FF league is just as annoying its gone from being competitive and fun to just a source of annoyance. I am real tempted to dropping out and asking for a refund I would rather prefer of course winning the whole damn thing since that would piss him off more but I dont think I have a realistic shot.
I feel your pain bro! Seriously, my money league is way too jacked up and weird with how they (the commish) decided to make it a keeper league, but instead of keeping your TOP 3 you can keep anyone from the 4th pick down. The GREAT thing ( ) about it is if you select a guy for instance Ray Rice from last year in the 6th round you can keep him easily for a 4th round pick. So the team I took over was absolute trash and I misunderstood the draft format and was stuck with Wes Welker (2nd pick) Ryan Grant (4th pick) and Jonathan Stewart (5th pick). Fortunately I was able to nab the second overall pick and take AP. With guys like Aaron Rodgers, Matt Schaub, and Hakeem Nicks being kept for basically trash picks. So those were pretty much my top players besides AP and Colston who I took in the 3rd round. Anyway you guys know those two RBs were injured or trash so I kept hitting the waiver wire and trying to swing trades to get better trades. Now my lineup looks like this: [spoiler[Matt Ryan, Atl QB Adrian Peterson, Min RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB Wes Welker, NE WR Brandon Lloyd, Den WR Pierre Garcon, Ind WR Aaron Hernandez, NE TE Mark Sanchez, NYJ QB Jets D/ST, NYJ D/ST Josh Scobee, Jac K Bench Ryan Torain, Was RB Vincent Jackson, SD WR Bears D/ST, Chi D/ST Santana Moss, Was WR Ronnie Brown, Mia RB IR Sidney Rice*, Min WR[/spoiler] So after all that wheeling and dealing I'm on my way to win number 6 and am in 4th place with the top six making it to the playoffs. So for someone to start pulling that type of crap after you worked your ASS off to get to respectability is something I can definitely relate too. Regardless to what we think you should do whatever eases your pain man, seriously. If its more worth it to just drop out and leave the stresses of your jacked up league than do it, but if you can go on an easy win streak and possibly crush his ass in the playoffs then freakin go for it.
Thomas Jones vs. Arizona BenJarvus Green-Ellis vs. Indy Fred Jackson vs. Cincy Knowshon Moreno vs. SD Pick 1...
Does anyone want to talk me into putting McFadden in the starting lineup? I can possibly see sitting Blount, but then again it's @PIT. Spoiler
Look what happened to me this week. Brady finally shows up, guess what happens? Brandon Marshall, Adrian Peterson, Mendenhall, and Reggie Wayne end up with less then 35 points TOGETHER. Pitiful. I lost against a 1-8 team, and I'm going to be .500 now, no way I make the playoffs most likely
Jackson. Ellis would be the other option but I hate relying on Patriots RB's. Jones is very hard to count on for much these days.
