I just offered Rice or LT/Brady for Turner/Vick in my secondary league... I'm sucking wind and I need to do something bold. Which one would you rather trade, Rice or LT?
I wouldn't accept that trade - I think Vick/Turner is clearly the better side of the deal. You should be ecstatic if the other guy agrees to it.
Who would you rather have the rest of the way, LT or Rice? P.S. That trade is actually favored toward him a little bit, because our league is weak on TDs and heavy on yardage points. But I think Turner is going to go nuts to finish the year, but Vick is a real wildcard.
I got Tom Brady in one league. He hasn't really been that good this season. Would you guys pick up Fitzpatrick or Josh Freeman and start them over Tom Brady this week. (Against the Steelers)
Is it a PPR league? If so definitely Rice. Non-PPR, it's closer, but I would still lean towards Ray Rice especially since you're more concerned about yards than touchdowns. I think Vick is a lock to be a top 5 fantasy QB as long as he stays healthy. The 80-100 yards rushing he gets you in addition per game are fabulous.
Freeman, definitely. Brady also has a foot injury, and most people aren't aware of this. The only thing that has me cautious about Freeman is that Carolina is so awful that Freeman might not have to do much and they'll just keep handing off to Blount in the second half. Otherwise it's a toasty matchup. That said, I'd consider starting even Fitzpatrick over Brady this week.
I should clarify, in my league 300+ yard games for QBs gives you a bonus. While passing tds are worth only 4 and not 6 points. No ppr, so RB value is the same all around. So Brady has more value than Vick in that sense.
New choice: Mike Goodson (@TB) or Lee Evans (vs. DET)? Normally, I'd say "Really? A third string RB or a #2 WR?", but Goodson really has no back-up since Williams and Stewart are both out. He should get just about every single red zone carry. In addition, the Bucs have a terrible run defense making it all the more enticing. That said, I think Roscoe Parrish is out for Buffalo, making Lee Evans a bigger target (but still behind Steve Johnson).
Tom Brady has zero 300 yard passing games this season. One of my leagues also does 4 pts for passing touchdowns. Vick even has more value than Brady here because he'll get you 6 to 10 points from rushing yardage alone, plus a full 6 points if he scores a rushing touchdown. And other than the game in which he got hurt, he has only one other game in which he passed for less than 200 yards. Vick is an elite fantasy QB regardless of format -- as long as he can stay healthy. Brady isn't.
Goodson if you need a homerun. He returns too no? And can catch. He can break a big run too unlike the other Carolina RBs. He is gonna be feast or famine but then again so is Evans.
I'm planning on starting Goodson over Desean Jackson. How do you like that for ballsy move that is going to bite me in the ass?
Thanks! Give me an order for this week, your rankings please! Tom Brady, Josh Freeman, Kyle Orton, Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick Orton Freeman Brady I keep expecting Fitzpatrick to have a bad game, but he keeps putting up decent to good games. Orton has been solid all season. Freeman has been a game manager. Good for 1-2 TDs a game, but never goes off. Brady will have to throw this week, and he will probably find the endzone, but could also throw a couple of picks.
