You know what, the Patriots suck against the pass too, so go ahead and flip a coin between Ben and Joe while you're at it... the Falcons will stop Rice and co though, so expect Flacco and Ben to throw with relative ease.
lol it's going to be a tough call when it comes down to it....sucks to have players that are actually performing and not enough slots to put them in.
If my trade goes through I'll be needing to drop a player. I've narrowed it down to Forte, Holmes, or Z. Miller. If I drop Forte I'll still have MJD, McCoy, McFadden, and Blount. If I drop Holmes I'd be left with only 3 WR in a 3 WR league; Megatron, Fitzgerald, and Boldin. Z.Miller is on his bye week plus missed last week with an injury. Week after his bye he'll be facing Pittsburgh so he probably won't contribute then either. My plan is to drop him and hope no one wastes a waiver wire pickup on him because of that. Thoughts or suggestions.
I do like Orton as well, but the KC pass defense is decent. Brandon Flowers, although beaten last week on a big play by Ford last week, is a quality corner. That would make you think my recommendation would be to sit Lloyd, but that is hard to do when he has been so good this year. I'm going to say Lloyd, though Boldin has the much better matchup.
would Dez Bryant and Pierre Garcon be a reasonable offer for MJD? I need to try to make a move for a second RB before the trade deadline but I dont want to be tossing out crazy offers and just be rejected..not looking to rape anyone in a trade. the other guys receiving corps are: devery henderson percy harvin anquan boldin his other rbs are snelling jahvid best brandon jacobs
It's not a reasonable offer since he has 2 decent WRs. But hey, he's deeper at RB, so give it a shot.
i would be willing to trade any of these players in a combination: garcon knox bryant fred jackson sidney rice shonn greene ben watson brandon pettigrew lee evans what combination of those players would you think would be a better offer: he has Gates as a TE for some reason he has both Alex Smith and Sanchez on his roster though he starts Flacco when he can. assuming that he does a 2 or 3 for 1 trade he would have to drop them and assuming he would drop hendersen if I give him a better receiver like Bryant or Garcon
Quite frankly I think all "quantity for quality" trades are pretty crappy. There really isn't any combination of those players I would take for MJD, especially given the people on his team. He's clearly giving up the better player, so why would he want to take on two marginally better players than Henderson, especially when he can only start 3 WRs total, I assume? (effectively rendering one of the WRs he gets from you moot/useless for the majority of the season, especially now that bye weeks are done) Meanwhile he's giving you an every week starter... He'd be pretty dumb to do that trade, MJD is his #1 RB, with Best and Jacobs playing the matchups and Snelling able to sub in when Turner bites the dust. He can probably find someone on waivers to supplant Henderson just as good as the guys you are offering him... JMHO Edit* If you can convince him that Gates is done for the year (which i think he is), you may be able to sweet talk him into overvaluing Pettigrew. That is the angle I would take. I'm a firm believer in Fred Jackson (even though most people aren't), but unfortunately you just don't have a WR with enough sex appeal to pair with Fred to get MJD IMO... Dez Bryant is about as close as you'll get... who knows... try it and see if it works... It's too bad the trade deadline in most leagues is this week, otherwise you could totally pull a sell-high with one of those WRs that is bound to have a good game this week.
decisions decisions... I need to start either: Kyle Orton vs. KC or Jay Cutler vs. Minn as of right now, i'm going with Orton even though Cutler is projected with more points. I have TO and Roddy White starting but I need to choose one WR between: Steve Smith (NYG) vs. Dallas or Brandon Lloyd vs. KC as of now, I'm going with Lloyd (he's hot and I never started him til about week 6 so a lot of wasted points on the bench in earlier weeks) The only reason I'm having second thoughts is Brandon Flowers and the KC secondary, but then again, Denver can't run the ball. thoughts?
Who is your other TE? Zach Miller is a top 8 TE in my book, so you shouldn't drop him unless you have a really good replacement. I'd be more inclined to drop Forte.
Tough call between Smith and Lloyd ... Lloyd just flat out gets it done every week but Smith is going up against that terrible Dallas secondary. It's a good problem to have if you ask me. Also, Cutler cannot be trusted, and even when Denver plays bad, Kyle Orton can usually be counted on to deliver GTP.
In general: If you have a WR1/WR2 on a team that is playing either Dallas or Houston, you start them, no questions asked. Those pass defenses are THAT bad. Yay. Keller hasn't done squat since the beginning of the season. There are only a handful of TEs that are must-starts every week, Keller isn't one of them. Jones (you saw what DMC did to Denver) and Garcon (has the most upside). Eagles and Vick. Baltimore hasn't done much fantasy-wise, IIRC. Mendenhall and a tossup between Gore and Turner as both are facing solid run defenses. I'm leaning towards Gore since he is very active in the pass game. Vick, but Eli is the home-run option. QBs have absolutely destroyed Dallas the past 3 weeks. I'd start Eli if you can afford to do it. I'll reply if you post the matchups. Hope you picked Tampa. Hill. Jackson and Evans, one of the two should hopefully go off while the other may be servicable. Mike Wallace over Garcon. Either can bust out for a 60yd TD, but I like Wallace against NE (5th worse pass D, fantasy wise). MSW and Dez, easily. Then Garcon. I'm starting Ben this week, but Flacco isn't a bad choice either. Nicks had 108 yd with 2 TD in Week 7 against Dallas. Easy choice there. Orton. I'd go with Steve Smith (100+yd and a TD in Week 7 against Dallas). Plus Lloyd seems to not play as well at home (link)
Here is my team, PPR obviously: Spoiler What changes would you make? I know we play a ton of guys, lol. I've left out K and D in the screenshot.
Need a quick hit. I've been watching Roddy White all week, he says this morning he'll play against Baltimore. I have Steve Johnson on the bench vs. Detroit. Would you take a chance on White not playing much or go with Johnson?
White will play, always bet on White! So I have Brees on a bye, there are a glut of QBs on the wire in my league and I'm having a hard time settling on one: Carson Palmer@ Indianapolis Josh Freeman vs Carolina Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Detroit Donovan McNabb vs Philly Shaun Hill@ Buffalo David Garrard vs Houston Palmer, Hill, and McNabb are all questionable but have pretty good, to fair matchups. Garrard against Houston sounds salivating and the same goes for Fitz vs DET. Who would you guys choose?
NEVER bench Roddy White. Steve Johnson may have more points, but the odds are so against that I'd never regret benching him in favor of Roddy.
