Good for Russ. I think at this point in their careers, it's pretty obvious he's better than Wall at least ... I do tend to agree that he's prob more stat-padding than impacting winning but at least he has the ability to go off? Wall's still trying to get back to form but you can obviously see the difference between the two at this point and time.

Hahhah, watch last week's Wizards Knicks game and tell me that the 4th quarter wasn't anything but Playoff russ from last year.

Wizards entered the 4th up 9 and lost by 1, Russ played the whole quarter, went 0-5, with 3 turnovers, 4 assists, He didn't get trip dup, despite colecting a bunch of assists in the last few seconds, only 13-18-9, but he did notch 6 fouls and 8 turnovers, 4 blocks, 2 steals

This is the eternal lie of Russ. A gaudy stat line with tons of EVERYTHING means he must be good.

Friends, I can report he is very not good.

If anything his performance this year (again, averaging a triple double lol) shows how meaninglessly stat padded his OKC years were.

As much as I'm not a fan of Westbrook's game, I do like him as a person. He has great perspective and every teammate that has played with him likes him.

He's right though, playing a game for millions is a huge W even if you aren't winning a championship. It sounds like Russ is just connected to reality, in the end, he's a HOF player, 1st ballot at that. Making millions and sounds like he loves his family, he's got it all. A championship I'm sure would be nice but when you're content...you're content.

Juxtapose that with Durant that ran to California to drown in rings and all the attention he could ever want because he couldn't stand having to compete, but still has the insecurity of a 14 year old girl. It's crazy how different personalites are.

Honestly, the motivation to win a championship for Westbrook probably went to zero after being traded from OKC. I feel like, for Westbrook, winning a title for OKC would have the most meaning for him. Winning a title with Houston or Washington probably means close to nothing at this point, for Westbrook as a person.

People like to crap on him for stat padding or for going too hard at times and making bad decisions. But the fact that he's using his wealth to help others in need and using his platform to do good in the world makes him more of a champion than winning an actual championship.

Nina Westbrook's husband is right. You don't need to win a championship to be a champion.

The thing is, I know people here don't care because it was used to deny Harden an MVP...

But how many players can we say averaged a triple double? That's a pretty cool historical fact, he's in much rarer company than a guy that wins a championship. It's something he'll always have and while it might not put him in top 10 all time discussion he's a HOF player, one of the most unique players we've ever seen. He really has nothing to be ashamed of.

And **** the media. Their whole "Rings over everything" narrative is the reason we have the super teams we have.

Another big fat L for Westbrick, with his usual 12 uncontested defensive rebounds, 1-6 for 3 and 9-25 from two. They should've won by 30 according to Chriss Broussard triple bubbles logic

    Why not ignore Russell Westbrook.

Why did First Take Producers put up the Russell Westbrook Topic. They want Clickbait. They want Stephen A Smith to get angry.

These are the same Media that praised Russell Westbrook for his Triple Doubles and his Overrated MVP Trophy.

Dame Lillard said something similar recently.
In the overall outlook on life they are right.
    However
Aint no one paying you 40 million dollars a year to say championships don't matter.
No one paying 200$ a night to watch that

Westbrook is worth the price of admission. In the long run of an nba marathon season, this guy has the skill of playing each game like its the finals. Its maniacal or psychotic, but I love it.
But an 80 percent athletic russ is just terrible as we saw, as we have seen him start the season last few years, but he has been able to pick it up.

Let alone the leadership skills which are unlikely to the outside but most players who play with them say hes an ultimate leader let alone he just raises the bar of effort in practice. Oladipos best year a year later he credited to how Russ approaches the game. beal has said that too. In that sense while we're losing anyways, I can't imagine how good Kelly porter could be with that mentality

Another L for Westbrick, but he still got his useless triple bubble by not playing any perimeter defense which allows him to racks in uncontested defensive rebounds. And people are noticing:

The Wizards have the worst OPP PPG in the NBA with 118.8 (in the crappy East...), thanks to Westbrick not playing any defense to stat pad uncontested defensive rebounds. Dude has been 1st round cannon fodder for years with very good teammates until he came to Houston and Harden dragged his ass to the 2nd round. Before that he was getting punked and humiliated in the first round by Dame, Ricky Rubio and rookie Donovan Mitchell.

He stat pads uncontested defensive rebounds, plays no defense (couple years ago he had less contested perimeter shots than... Deandre Jordan!) and is shooting with putrid efficiency, but hey... he screams a lot, he makes mean faces after his dunks, so kids are all over him like girls were all over Justin Bieber.

Russ is about to overtake Harden for the apg leader...he’s been hunting that hard the past few weeks

Wizards will get blown, shoot crappy from the field, and barely score over 100, and Russ will still somehow have like 14 assists that game
