The Clippers were fringe playoff teams, wut?

The Hornets were better than you give them credit for, they were overachievers but certainly not fringe, they averaged 50 wins in a 3 year period.

They were fringe (and that's generous) without Chris Paul, he singlehandedley carried those teams into meaningful status. Therefore people thought "wow those are good teams, Chris Paul is just a choker", aside from him they weren't good teams..at all.

    Nope.

He had other all stars on those teams and some fringe all stars.

He did not single-handedly do anything.

Westbrook had a great game in Charlotte this season and he is a Jordan Brand athlete. Old heads like Jordan actually like Westbrook. The Lakers could also be Charlotte's way of getting out of Gordon Hayward's contact. If no one talks him out of it, Jordan could trade for him. I wouldn't be at all surprised.

westbrick would be the worst thing for charlotte, just like how he was the worst thing for the rockets and Lakers.

being a jordan athlete doesn't have much to do with anything. He's been that throughout his career and hasn't mattered having to play on his team. And now that westbrick is pretty much a laughing stock and being exposed on so many levels, the urge to get your brand athlete isn't that relevant. Especially when that player is a loser

Precisely why he made the play with Steph quote. There was no chance in hell it would happen and Steph doesn't want him but many would welcome LBJ. He's putting Jeannie Buss on notice that they are going to have to CONTINUE to do what he wants when he wants it. He is not a reflective or humble person. If he makes a mistake its someone else's fault and if he is successful it is all because of him. I say this having been a LBJ apologist for his entire career. The difference is with his play on the court and ability to win as an organization you swallow that every time. He has screwed them over but as you said he also turned their dogsh1t team into a champion. As he promised he attracted players to play with him although I am sure he wishes he wouldn't have in many cases.

PS....I would argue that LBJ still has a lot to prove not by my standards but by his ego. He is NOT leaving LA. He wants to stay there and have them draft Bronny and play with him. LBJ gets what he wants. He could easily leave but at his age and the condition of AD and situation with Russ I think they are at a bad crossroads. I don't think LBJ brings back what he would have and the Lakers future is crushed. It is worth more to keep him. AD is a declining asset but the only asset you could conceivably move and get pieces back you need to pair with LBJ. At the same time, LBJ is not just going to write off next season because of his age.

After the Lakers trade us 2027 1st they basically lose their first or have pick swaps with the Pelicans and don't have a 1st until 2025. It makes no sense to rebuild. They traded themselves out of that completely. They have to use up every last ounce of LBJ and AD until that rebuild window can begin with any assets. All of their contracts except those two are literally gone after next year which screws them out of significant team building. It is a really screwed up situation and the Lakers do not have the balls.

Also, LBJ is part of that decaying breed of Durant, Kawhi, Kyrie, Paul, George, Butler, Harden, Westbrook that all went off team hopping. LA was still attractive because Kobe was just there and the stars around the NBA were pretty established. There is a whole new set of stars that are going to have to replace this group that are not as well established and they are moreso established with their teams. I don't think it will be as easy in the near future for LA to just do what it always has and rebuild with no homegrown talent. Kobe and Magic started their dynasties and Magic also had Worthy and Scott. The Lakers are so depleted because they got LBJ free but he immediately gutted their team and then did it again without getting that 2nd FA to come. If he could have done that AND swinged the AD trade none of this would be happening right now. Look at the complete cost consequences to failing on Kawhi or one of the others and the complete culmination of the Westbrook trade. The little snowflake that became the avalanche. Ryno beget our current team. That's right one guy. One monumental failure caused that cascade. If we had PG13 and made the CP3 trade there is a different NBA history right now.

that story sounds fake but since it's westbrick and his dumb iq would support that logic, I believe it. oh and I can't stop laughing

****ing Westbrick. What the hell is he smoking? Should we run the clip of all your bricks?

You had plenty of opportunities especially with AD out. You just sucked.

As mentioned previously, Westbrook will be bowing out of the game the same way Allen Iverson went out. Westbrook will never accept a bench role and will never accept not being a superstar for the team. His ego is huge, and well, he's made plenty of money, so more power to him if this is the way he wants to go out.
