Don't look now but if the Astros do the incredible and get a bye going into the playoffs, I do believe Joe Espada will win Manager of the Year. It appears to be a 3 way race with Cleveland and Kansas City's manager. Hinch would sneak into the race if the Tigers somehow make the playoffs.
Very impressive to sweep the royals with Bregman/Tucker missing. My hats off to the pitching staff and some bats stepping up to get it done. Lets hope Bregman and Tucker are back very soon.
20 G before Baltimore: 20.2 IP, 2.18ERA, 1.48FIP, .187/.256/.213/.469 (OPS) .298 (babip), 21H+BB, 28 K Once they're updated tonight, which i believe happens at midnight, we can continue this.
He gave up the lead in the Hunter Brown game as well. First Royals game. Came into game in the 7th inning with man on 1st and 2nd and 2outs. Gave up a single and a three run double and we were down 3-2. Luckily we scored 4 runs in the 8th.
Only 2 inherited runners he's allowed to score in 2+ months. I'm all for giving him a rest, since he's pitched more games than anyone in MLB (last I checked), but yall's "he sucks" refrain makes me want to kick every single one of you in the dick, repeatedly
I didn’t say he sucks. I said we survived an outing by him. He promptly came into the game and gave up a double, so my immediate reaction was “here we go again.” Dick kicking seems a bit extreme. The Astros won, let’s all be cool.
Their team fell off a cliff. Good new is this might be who the Mariners are. Obviously the Astros are better then we thought. If you add up the injuries and everything else we have as good a chance to win the WS as anyone
His ERA was 6.08 in August. If we gift him the would-be DP vs Baltimore (removing 2 ER), it becomes 4.98. Fans should still have confidence in him, but he's been shaky lately.
