This Royals team just got curb stomped by the freaking Twins. Freaking Jason Castro killed this staff.

I refuse to watch us play ourselves out of playoff contention again in April. Adjustments need to be made now.

So glad we had all those players in the WBC.

Correa, Altuve, and Bregman are all hititng under .220 at this point.... our 2-4 in the lineup.

Beltran is at .292 after his double just now and that includes 2 of the cheapest infield hits I've ever seen.

Aoki is at .300 but that is only 3 hits.

And Gregerson... well we all saw that nightmare

    Classic Astros 9 hits = 2 runs
    Royals 7 hits = 7 runs

Hitting with runners in scoring position has been atrocious the past few years.

Astros bullpen = Good last year but sucks this year.
Astros lineup = Good last year but sucks this year.
Astros starting pitching = sucks last year but good this year.

We need to get everyone on the same page and we need to turn the corner. If we sweep the Rangers then I will be happy no matter what.

Everyone needs to relax. People love to overreact to the first 15 games of the season because that is all we have to go off of in terms of statistics and such. Real conclusions shouldn't be made about a team until 25-30 games.

(Luke )Not executing his pitches. Didn't say much on the bench. Results are what they are. Bad night for him.

Dallas did his job. Good game. He was in control. Getting him into the mid 90s was enough for him. Spoils the night for him. He got a few close pitches his way, fielded his position well, did what Dallas does. Did a nice job getting through 7.

(Think about pitching him in the 8th?) Not really. It's early in the season. Coming off a high volume spring. There will be days you push him. Having Luke on a day's rest & Giles in the back end, mapped out exactly how we wanted. ... There's no replays, no way to go back. Unfortunate for our team but in the world of decision making, I was trying to make the best decision for Dallas & our team & we had everything lined up the way we wanted. It just didn't work.

(Springer) OK, jammed left wrist into the wall. He knows no boundaries. Took some swings underneath, had he come up to bat, he would have hit.

    Pitchers relax after "free" outs.

Couldn't agree more. Sure, it's frustrating to lose 3 in a row and to see the bullpen and lineup struggle. But they started even worse last year and eventually played themselves into first in the division before timely injuries and a terrible record against the Rangers. Obviously, if the bats continue to be this bad and the bullpen pitches this bad for the next few weeks then there will be some cause for concern. But until then, there shouldn't be much panic. If you go look at team offensive statistics on MLB.com, the Cubs, Astros and Mariners are three of the bottom 10 teams in virtually every category (including with runners in scoring position) and I think it's safe to assume that all three of those teams will turn it around. And it's also safe to say that teams like the Diamondbacks, Twins and others at the top (that aren't expected to be even close to .500 teams) will drop off at some point in the next month or so. Could the Astros continue this trend and have an April similar to last season? Sure. But let's not forget that even after last year's poor start they found themselves atop the division and would've likely made the playoffs if it weren't for such an atrocious record against the Rangers and the injuries to Keuchel and McCullers.
