Agreed. It could be kind of like a TE (who played O-line in college or something) sliding over to play Guard for a game. It's not easy, and you wouldn't just throw someone into it. (Esp. if it was their first game recovering from a torn pec or something.. squatting for 9 innings after hernia recovery can't be ideal.)

Radio crew just said Hinch is planning to work with Gattis over the next few days to prepare him to catch some
Last year Gattis did not catch because he was "suppose" to be a great DH and offensive weapon. At the end the final numbers were not good enough as a DH and we have other options, and maybe better options than Gattis, examples: Tucker/White. Yes, i say White because AJ Reed is almost ready. Not that the Astros have "better" options at DH, they see Gattis as a great back up catcher and DH vs lefties. Now, i hope he does great because doing that we can trade one of the many good bats we have fighting to become the regular DH.
Don't like Tucker being taken out of the lineup. He's one of the bats that have carried the offense so far. Gomez should just be allowed to continue getting everyday playing time if he doesn't hit any better either. Play the players who are producing.
