it was in the NBA. they brought it up a couple years ago when the Hawks and Heat had a suspended game resume months later.

That was exactly what I was thinking of. Weird that it happened in the NBA rather than MLB.

then is there a half hour between or something? i cant imagine they wouldn't resume the first game earlier. you can't risk a game starting at like 10 pm. just my guess though.

I'd be surprised if they didn't at least move it to 6:05. If the Nationals win in the 11th, then it's not that big a deal. Each additional inning will push the next game out at least 20 minutes plus whatever built in delay they will have between the two games.

Game 1: L - Ortiz vs. Greinke? Hahahah... is this even a contest?

Game 2: W - Oswalt vs. Hochevar? Hahahah... is this even a contest?

Game 3: W - Okay, finally a decent match-up. Moehler's been mostly solid, only letting in 2-3 runs per outing. I wish he'd go deeper, though. Bannister's begun pitching well again, too. I'm going to give it to Houston due to home field advantage.

To be fair, Moehler has only had 4 quality starts out of 11 and in 4 of his 11 starts, he was bad to awful. I know he was injured early on but I'm not sure that he was hurt before his first 2 starts of the season or his last starts against the Cubs and Rangers. He had had 2 consecutive quality starts so maybe he's getting back on track, although I believe he got lucky in one of his last 2 starts. I can't recall which one it was but his line ended up looking a lot better than he actually pitched. Hopefully, he can find that consistency he had going last season as a starter.

I'd tell you to go look at the last few games each of them has pitched, but that didn't work out well against Texas.

Greinke's last few games haven't worked out real well against anyone.

His last outing against Arizona he gave up 4 runs in 6.2 innings

On June 5th he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings

He's not been the dominant pitcher he was through the first 10 or so starts.

Yeah, you told me I had everything backwards against Texas, too. I was right. :p (well, I said Ortiz would let in 4 runs in 5 innings... he did it in 6, but still...)

You don't just count out Greinke, a guy who has a 1.96 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, just because he had a few not-so-stellar games lately. The Astros are going to get pounded tonight.

I'm banking on the Royals O giving him the Roger Clemens treatment, and Stros escape 1 - 0.

No one is counting him out....but to suggest the 'stros don't stand a chance is ridiculous. It's baseball, after all.

That would be a pleasant surprise for the Astros to win tonight. If they do, I hope Pence/Lee go nuts so my fantasy team benefits!

Their history suggests they indeed have a chance! That of a snowball in hell.

Only favourable pitching matchup I see is Roy going tomorrow night.

Could easily be back to last place again soon.

While Ortiz may be effective, it sure as hell isn't fun watching him pitch.

Rarely does he have command of the strike zone, he neither overpowers nor does he finnesse, and he will likely never pitch past the 6th inning given how many pitches (balls) he throws.
