On May 25, 1993, the Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies met for the very first time. The Rockies got 2 in the 7th and the 8th off Xavier Hernandez to win 7-5 in the Astrodome. Pete Harnisch had a bare minimum quality start, allowing 7 hits (2 homers), walking 2, and striking out 6. All 3 runs he allowed were off the 2 homers, which were hit by Daryl Boston (2-run) in the 1st and Nelson Liriano (solo) in the 2nd. Craig Biggio was 2-4 with a solo homer in the 4th. Jeff Bagwell was 3-5 with 2 runs scored, and Ken Caminiti was 3-4 with 3 RBI; an RBI single in the 1st and a 2-run single in the 3rd. The Astros offense beat up Lance Painter for 5 innings, tagging him for 5 runs on 7 hits (Biggio's homer), drew 3 walks, and none of them struck out.

It better be George Springer getting called up. Paredes is a joke in the outfield. He should spell Dominguez once a week at 3rd. We should go with JD, Barnes and Springer in the Outfield going forward.
Stole a win from one of may favorite ex-Astros Wilton Lopez. The energy at the game was really weird at two different moments: the Altuve double/triple and the Robbie Grossman 0-2 count. For the Altuve play, I commend Altuve's ability to run the bases, but he had no business trying to swipe third assuming a decent throw was made and considering there were 0 outs. That being said, I applaud (literally), his effort. For some reason, it seemed more like a "dammit, I'm going to bring this one home" moment for him as a result of being left on base so often. It may not have been a great baseball decision, but it excited the crowd because you could just tell he didn't want to lose. I loved seeing the fans respond positively because it seemed like we could rally around Jose and his hustle and dedication to the team. That will be one of my favorite moments from the season. Secondly, the Grossman at bat. For the most part, the stadium stayed as involved as 8,000 people could (with 1000 being Rockies fans), but the final Grossman at bat was just odd. It was an 0-2 count and it got dead silent. Cedeno was on second after a Marwin sacrifice, and it was a pivotal at bat in the game, but the crowd seemed disinterested in Grossman. It was almost as if people were thinking "Welp... Altuve is up next at least", and it was quieter than the 3:00 moment of silence. I was just curious to see if anyone else noticed this while at the game. Random moment: the engagement. I am sorry, but proposing in a 25% full stadium is just depressing. What was oddly funny was the look on her face when they showed her on the kiss cam. You could tell she wasn't thrilled about being in the public eye, and then BOOM one knee and a life decision. Reading her lips, she said "stop it", but obviously was going to say yes. She wanted none of it right then it seemed like, but then fell into the moment. All this being said, glad to see our Astros win, and nothing beats extra inning baseball on at a day game and coming home to ribs.
Things worth noting: 5 innings of shut out relief, Bud throwing another gem at home, Matty D crushed a ball that would have been gone if fair in the ninth.
