i've said it before and i'll say it again: brandon lyon is not MLB-worthy. hopefully they keep him far far away from relevant game situations.
really good win for the kids! and, a fun game to watch. go stros! let's enjoy this .500 ball while it lasts.
This guy looks like a steal from his last couple of performances. Hopefully he can keep finding the strike zone.
This is why I think this team will be better than most expected. If the young pitchers can step up we have a chance for 75 wins. The offense is underrated as well imo.
Why don't you go check Chris Johnson's minor league numbers the last 2 years. CJ has a .870OPS in AA and a .792OPS in AAA. CJ has nearly 800 ML plate appearances. That is a good enough sample size to say reasonably that his career numbers are sustainable (.722 OPS). The minor league numbers indicate he could be a decent every day player. If he was a solid defender, he'd have his job locked down.
I was at the game tonight and had a great time. It's good to see this franchise going in the right direction. I was surprised with how effective Harrell looked tonight. Hopefully he has a break out season.
That wont be too difficult since most everywhere outside Houston, the Stros are expected to place 30th out of 30 teams this season.
Really glad to see Lucas Harrell pitch well last night. Hopefully this isn't just a one start aberration since the league really doesn't have good film on him yet. I don't know that anyone feels he will be a star, but it would be really nice if he could blossom into a fourth or fifth starter that gives the Astros a chance to win on his nights to pitch.
