What a load of ****ing garbage. The ump misses TWO clear cut strikes and then of course Roy has to practically throw a tee shot in there for a 3 run Tulowitzki HR.
Holy Crap Jimenez throws hard. Wow. Anytime you can hit 98-100 mph, you automatically win the game no matter what the pitch location is.
I knew the guy threw well from seeing him in the past but I didn't know he had that kind of stuff. I guess I missed the memo.
Jimenez has a 3.53 ERA for his career pitching about half his games in Colorado. I wonder what that translates to in a more hitting-neutral park. They have ERA+ which adjusts for a player's ballpark but numbers in the 100s aren't as easy to make sense of as standard ERA. Either way, I'm guessing that his adjusted career ERA is probably somewhere around 3.00.
At least the walk to Feliz of all people assures he won't throw a perfect game. He looked unhittable in the first 2 innings.
a character from a PC game called Red Alert. His abilities of mind control and telepathy ensure our victory tonight.
It looks like they just missed another strike call and Tulowitzki ends up walking. I turned on the game right as Tulo hit his HR so I didn't see those other two missed calls you're referring to.
Yeah, they were bad. One was an "ok" missed call, but then Roy follows it up with an even BETTER pitch and the ump calls it a ball again. Next pitch? out of the park.
That 2nd strike they called on Q looked like it was at his neck. The ump can't be giving the guy calls like that.
3 weak grounders in the inning. Q's was so weak that he actually got a hit. I was hoping that Kepp would draw the walk at 3-0 and at least give Berkman a shot.
Roy has given up 1 hit and 3 walks in 4 IP and has struck out 5. Jimenez has given up 1 hit and 2 walks in 3 IP and has struck out 1. Roy's error plus apparently some questionable calls by the home plate ump and one bad pitch... and we're losing 3-0.
How disturbing is that Manzella has twice as many walks as Pence this season (6 to 3)? Even Feliz has more.
Yeah, it was a slightly awkward toss from Lance but Roy ideally fields that cleanly to at least start the inning.
