Colin has turned in to a scrub.

This guy was pitching better than Dallas for much of last year.

Is it too early to toss him aside?

    McOuch needs to go, NOW.

I prefer to see Straily pitch, this guy just sucks.

Acutally, i prefer Hernandez over this clown.

I think the McHugh experiment needs to be put on hold.

He's just not currently capable as a starting pitcher. Pretty shocked to see him fall of like this, but at this point, it's no longer a knee jerk reaction. Take him out of the rotation for anyone else, even Hernandez.

All this talk about Altuve regressing or having one outlier season...

    Colin McHugh?

    Well, that's certainly not obvious.

If he thinks Kemp = Altuve, my money is on him favoring the fan favorite locked into a dirt-cheap contract, who won a batting title and steals title in the major leagues a few months ago.

Now, if he thinks Kemp is better than Altuve? Yeah, you typically favor the better player...not exactly a novel concept. Has nothing to do with who drafted him.

I keep waiting for Mchugh to turn it around but it seems like last year was the fluke, not the rest of his career numbers. For some reason he reminds me of Tim Redding.

Hernandez? LOL we tried that before.

I think he drops if VV pitches well and Feldman comes back.

McHugh.....the guy we will release after a few more poor starts to only get picked up by the Rangers and dominate.

    Makes me sick

What is up with this type of overreaction? For Hernandez?

Look at McHugh's games. He's had TWO "awful" games this season. Granted, 1 was his last time out. But the other was in mid-May.

I'm not saying he's pitching well. But I am saying he's not even as close to "horrible" as 80% of people are making him out to be. Last 5 starts before the blowup 5 days ago: 6 IP 3 ER, 7 IP 4 ER, 6 IP 4 ER, 7 IP 3 ER, 7 IP 2 ER. This season he has gone at least 6 innings in 10/13 starts. He has given up 3 ER or less in 8/13. 4 ER or less in 11/13. No, 4 ER is not good in 6 or 7 innings. But yes, it's acceptable in the rotation and not worth dropping for Hernandez

Redding is a good comparison. If that dude could make it out of the first inning, he usually could go 6 or 7 innings. But if he gave up a couple hits in the first inning, it snowballed, he lost his confidence, then got shelled. Kind of like McHugh, but I think Redding had better stuff than McHugh.

McHugh has always given up a lot of hits, but he was good (or lucky?) at limiting damage. In the last few starts, he hasn't limited damage.

At no point did Redding have anywhere close to as good as a stretch as McHugh had heading into this season (and early on this season).

His stuff was also NOT as good.... not if you believe the real reason the Astros valued McHugh was they counted the revolutions on his curveball (which exceeded the normal curveball).

Granted, if he's not locating his fastball... and not getting a good feel of the curveball (which is tough in Coors, regardless)... he's going to struggle. Just like any pitcher.

nahhhhh, May, over 5 ERA and 8 homers allowed in 6 games, ouch
June, ERA over 8, with 4 homers in 3 games

This start, 1 inning, 3 runs, 1 homer

Before last year, he was really one of worse pitchers in baseball.

This guy is not good, PERIOD.

I was hoping that they would start Hernandez today. He pitched well in relief of McHugh last week. More importantly, McHugh is in a funk, and Coors Field is not the place to get out of a funk. Thinking Hinch should have held him out one more day.
