Yea this will be a tough decision for Hinch, the big OF makes putting Gattis out there bad But Coors being such a hitters park, Gattis needs to be in the lineup
I would say zero I don't think they would want to take any chances, health wise, with Gattis right now
We really only have one comparable series to look at (San Diego), and he did start a game at LF there.
and If I recall correctly, he didn't have any balls hit to him out there (or at least wasn't really challenged). I'd like to see them start him in LF and then take him out for a defensive replacement sometime after the 6-7th inning depending on the score. Might as well throw him out there and see what he brings as a defender . We might be pleasantly surprised. He just has to be a decent defender with no errors. He's become one of the more reliable bats lately so need him in the lineup!
Its not like he's never played the field before... in 2013 he played 48 games in the outfield for the Braves. Of course, leg injuries limited his season last year... and the Braves didn't want him playing out there in part because of that injury risk. But, make no mistake... he's a fielder only in the direst of circumstances (which if they didn't have Tucker, and Marisnick's bat kept on dwindling, they'd be a little less reluctant to have him play some games there).
