I can't beleive Harris has resulted in an 8page thread.

He's nice but whatever. We don't have the luxery of keep Harris on an unguarenteed contract when we've got so many guarenteed guys already here.

2 years later, I don't know what will happen. Many variables are alway in for that is a business. At present, they must do the best decision for this season. Actually, I don't believe Harris will be a player like Bonzi's level in 2 years.

If Harris couldn't stick with the Bucks, then what does that say about him...

Synder is the odd man out. Doesn't matter how good he is. He is the weakest link. No, Novak is not better but a sweet 3 pt shot is something teams will wait to develop. Synder has been in the league and it's unfortunate but this team is way too deep....this year.

A good problem to have indeed.

    It's unfortunate.

He likely wasn't going to get any playing time but he would have been nice to keep around to maybe develop.

But since he wasn't going to get any playing time, and since he doesn't have a big contract, that makes him the least tradeable asset if he were to make the team. And you know Morey wants as much lattitude for trades as possible. If the roster weren't so stacked, I wouldn't be surprised if we had kept Sura's contract again this season.

Like a poster said, he came to the team at the wrong time. Just too crowded.

They had just signed Ruben Patterson and two drafted rookies in David Noel & Ersan Ilyasova who played the same position. I think Bobby Simmons hadn't been ruled out for the season at the time and Charlie V also covered the same positions. Harris was only brought in as training camp fodder.

My initial post was that I hope gets picked up by another team.

Let me revise that. I hope we free up a roster sport by trading some contracts for a TE or draft picks or something, and then we resign him.

Failing that, alright I hope he gets picked up by another team.

I was just thinking about how good would it be if we could get someone to take one of our scrubs for cash to openup room for us to bring back harris.

As for novak and he's shot, well he has been spot on in the preseason, but he has looked pretty one dimensional all together. i rather keep butler over novak. butler is 22, he is a big body who can score. i would have rather kept harris over novak.

i really hate to see mike harris leave. i thought he was playing really well. at least more than snyder and lucas (whom i dont know why we havent cut yet).i do know that someone will sign mike harris and he is going to fluorish wherever he goes. hes 6 foot 6 and even better 240lbs. thats pretty much a lebron body right there (6'8, 240). i wish Mike all the best! :p

I didn't want Harris to get cut, but I suspected that he would. Going back to my Guard/Wing/Post thinking, and with Reed already having been cut, the absence of Harris leaves no more Wing players left to be cut. Here are the Wings who will be on our 15-player roster:

    T-Mac
    Bonzi
    Battier
    Snyder
    Novak

We have two Guards to waive or trade, and they are (obviously) Sura and JL3. Our five Guards on opening day will be:

    RA (ughhhh...)
MJ (spark plug off the bench
SF (will wash MJ's [golf] balls)
LH (maybe Daniel Gibson in the playoffs, but game is fishy and is trade bait)
AB (NBDL, and could be second guard off the bench if SF3 sucks it up)

There's only one Post layer who will be cut, and the odd man out is gonna be Landry. Think about it: we drafted Landry not knowing how cheap/generous/stupid the Spurs would be, and then got Scola. Yao ain't going anywhere, Deke is gone in a year, and Butler will get a chance to be around after Deke is gone. Scola will probably start with Hayes backing him up. That leaves Carl "Mike James Biatch, Jr." Landry on the bubble. I think he's also the cheapest to waive. Here are your 5 Post players on opening day:

YAO (you're "Center"...will play all over the paint and everywhere in the post)
DEKE (the only real "Center" on this team...will only play in the low-post)
BUTLER (will turn into a traditional center, but could suck at it)
SCOLA (you're starting "Power Forward"...will play in the high- to mid-post)
    HAYES (mid-low post)

Folks, this is the way it's gonna be...I just feel it...

I think Harris was competing with Snyder for a spot on the roster, and Snyder won. Novak and Reed should be the next two cuts. We have enough 3-pt shooters on this team that we dont need Novak, and we never wanted Reed.

of course they can, but you have to realize how hard it is to trade bodies without getting and bodies back, and i doubt any of the people we are going to cut are tradable for cash, exceptions, pick and etc. It takes two willing teams to trade.
