It sucks, the money is only concerned in this case, no the basketball skills.

Small money, virtually no cap hit, odds were against him staying on. Hopefully we can bring him back.

Morey needs to make a deal happen. There's got to be a taker for JL3 - the Nugs are PG-less.

He does wear some nice sweaters when he's inactive.

This really doesn't suck as much as you guys are saying. Harris showed some flashes, but there was a 0.05% chance he'd have a meaningful impact on this team. Same with Reed, Lucas, Novak or any of the other marginals. Given Harris' contract situation, he had to go. I'm personally glad they did it early for him.

The reason this sucks so bad is there are completely worthless unmotivated players making more money and this guy with heart and some game gets cut because we have to pay these other losers.

    Good luck Mike Harris.

Its really sad to see Harris leave. But look at the bright side. Hayes was released once then picked up a few months later. Hope he will be wearing a Rockets uniform sometime in the future when we have a roster spot.

Like others, I absolutely hate this move. Hope we pick him back up later after the roster situation clears up.

Even if we kept him, who here expected him to get any playing time?
I liked him during the preseason games too but fact of the matter is, with such a deep team this season, Harris is the one of the odd men out.

I think it is a pretty easy decision from here on out. Harris is now gone. Next comes Sura. JLIII will be out in no time, as expected. Landry is likely done, with his non-guaranteed contract. That leaves one more. I'd say the choice comes down to either Reed or Brooks. Between the two, I'd pick Brooks to stay with the team. He's got so much more potential.

Novak? Butler? I would cut those two even before I consider Brooks. I don't even know why he would be in the discussion of being cut.

how so? 4 left to lose.. Lucas, Reed, Sura.. and then either Novak/Snyder .. or maybe Butler if you throw in the opinion of the bbs ;)

But still, by no means has Novak beat out Snyder..

Sad to see him get cut. I liked his attitude and heart, but it was a long shot for him to make the team anyway. I hope he gets another oppurtinty elsewhere, or he'll be a dominating force in the D-League.

I'm sure Novak thinks this, but he said he had already made the team.

If I had to bet, I'd say Novak gets cut and we keep Snyder, Landry, and Butler.

Butler's a 3rd big body and he's showed signs of potential. We can't take a risk with Yao having injuries the last 2 years and Deke being over 40.

We just signed Landry to a contract, so I doubt we'll want to admit that was a mistake (even though I think it was and the reason they're cutting Harris who outperformed him.)

Snyder's has struggled, but he's much tougher defensively than Novak and had a pretty good game against the Sonics.

    Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

What are the terms of Landry's contract? How much of it was guaranteed?

    Guaranteed contract versus non-guaranteed.

I would not be shocked to see him resigned if we can unload some of the guaranteed contracts like:

    JL3
    Landry
    Novak
    Reed
    Butler
